Guys, why were you freaking out so much about it being the end? I never said it was done. 😄
Oh...was it because of my note in the end? My apologies, I didn't know what I was causing with that 😁
You didn't seriously think I'd leave you like this now, right?
Why did I do this? Because I'm an unapologetic sadist. ☺️🫶🏻
I am slightly sorry for possibly causing any trauma or sleepless nights...maybe.Have fun :> x
It was freezing cold to that time of the year and the wind that was hitting Louis' face and crawling under his jacket made everything even worse. He pulled the hood of his winter jacket further in his face when he stepped out of the protecting walls of the University building when he turned towards the sidewalk to go down to the coffee shop by the next junction to have some caffein for his long day of studying that was ahead of him.
He slipped on the icy ground that was covered by a thin layer of snow but someone grabbed his arm just in time before he could fall on his ass.
"Careful there." Louis turned his head and the grateful smile turned into a chuckle when he steadied himself and looked at the amused face of one of his few friends he had here.
"Thanks, Trey. Could've turned out bad." He said.
"No worries. Buy me a coffee and we're even." Trey laughed.
"What a way to get free coffee. You were probably just waiting for someone to slip here." Louis joked at his comillitone of three semesters already.
"You got me here." Trey sighed jokingly and they started their walk towards the shop. "Long day of studying ahead?" He pointed to Louis' heavy bag that was hanging from his shoulder.
"Yeah, sadly. What about you?" Louis sighed.
"Nah, I'm going home tomorrow and still need to pack. When are you leaving?" Trey wondered.
"Uh, I'm not going home this year." Louis chuckled awkwardly.
"Huh? Why not? It's Christmas, mate. Your family will be mad." Trey frowned. "And...weren't you already here last Christmas?"
A pang shot through Louis' heart as every time he thought about his family, but he pushed that unpleasant feeling away quickly and straightened his posture.
"Nah, they're fine." He smiled, not getting into his last question.
"If you say so." Trey shrugged.
Louis hummed and nodded. He stuffed his freezing hands in his warm pockets but felt his phone buzzing. He fumbled it out and froze on his spot when he saw his mother's name flashing over the screen. A second later the call was ended and he sighed deeply, but frowned when he saw only now that he already had seven missed calls throughout the morning from her.
Why should she call him and especially so often? It couldn't be because it was Christmas in a few days, last year she didn't bother to even wish him a happy birthday or a merry Christmas, let alone inviting him, so there had to be another reason, but honestly he couldn't care less. They have made it more than clear that he wasn't their son anymore, so after it took over a long one and a half years to accept it he made peace with it now and just wanted to carry on with his life and not look back anymore. There was still one person that kept him from forgetting his past entirely, but as always he banned him from his head.
"Are you coming?" Trey brought him out of his tangled thoughts and he looked up confused.
"Huh? Oh, yeah." Just then his phone rang again and he stiffened once more. "Hey, I catch up to you later, okay? I need to take this." He held up the phone and Trey gave him a thumbs up leaving him alone. He took a deep breath before answering the call eventually with a trembling hand. "Hello?"
