When Monday finally came around, you had butterflies at the thought of seeing Jeffrey again.
It was like you were starting all over again and it felt just as good, if not better than the first time.
Neve pulled up outside your house and you jumped into her car.
"You're in a very good mood considering it's Monday" Neve laughed as you sang along to the radio.
"I am" you laughed "I just don't know why"
"Well it beats the way you've been moping around since you called it off with Stewart" she remarked "I was beginning to question whether you'd done the right thing"
"I definitely did" you told her "And you had no intentions of starting anything with anyone else anytime soon.
"Us against the world?" she asked,
"Always" you grinned, but suddenly felt guilting for keeping something so huge from her.
You walked her to first period before heading to your own class. You had business studies.
You actually enjoyed your first 2 sessions, then you had break with Neve.
"Stewart was asking after you again" she told you
"That boy needs to get over it" you sighed "anyway I didn't like that side of him when I told him it was over. I think I had a lucky escape"
"It's always the quiet ones you have to watch" she replied, and you both burst out laughing.
Just as Jeffrey joined the queue for starbucks, catching your eye and smiling.
"Ladies" he smirked
"Hi Jeffrey" you smiled, and so did Neve.
"Gracie I could do with having a chat with you today about your applications, the deadlines are fast approaching and you having written your personal statement yet" he continued,
"I know" you sighed, he was right but you were also aware that he didn't need to have this conversation with you in front of Neve.
"You haven't finished your application!" Neve exclaimed, looking at you in shock
"I've had a lot on my mind" you defended, glancing between the two of them.
"Oh no" Neve scolded "No fuck boy is stopping my best friend getting into Uni"
"I like her" Jeffrey laughed "And I definitely need more details about the 'fuck boy'"
"Oh my god Neve" you groaned
"She's free after college today" Neve told Jeffrey
"Neve!" you exclaimed "What if I had plans"
"You don't" she shrugged "and this is more important"
"You haven't even asked if Jeff is free after college" you told her, Neve just looked at Jeffrey.
"I certainly am" he smirked
"Apparently I'll see you after college then" you laughed, addressing Jeffrey.
"I'll look forward too it" he nodded and continued to order his coffee.
"What the hell Neve!" you exclaimed when he was out of ear shot,
"What the hell to you too!" she exclaimed back "How have you left it this late to finish your application"
"Like I said, things on my mind" you sighed
"Well you need to get your act together" she scolded
"Sorry mum" you laughed
