You met Jeffrey round the corner to go to his house, deciding you needed to talk in private about how to handle this new threat.

"So far all we are guilty of is flirting" Jeffrey said "she can accuse us of more but hasn't actually seen anything"

"She will be starting to piece things together though" you sighed "the way I snapped at her, the fact I walked in on you, we've been alone in your room a couple of times that she knows of. I know how the female brain works Jeffrey"

"Fuck" he groaned, running his hand down his face "just when we were getting back on track, the universe throws us a curveball"

"We just need to be more careful" you told him "she can't do anything without proof, so we need to make sure we don't give her any"

"Right" he agreed "but that restricts us because she even knows where I live"

"Yeah" you replied "don't remind me" Jeffrey met my gaze and his eyes were apologetic.

"You can't pick me up round the corner anymore" You told him "I can't be seen coming in and out of your house"

"You can use the backdoor" he told you "there's an alley wall that runs along the back of the garden.

"Okay" you sighed "sneaking around was hard enough already but this is going to be mission impossible"

"We just need to be careful until we know what she intends to do with this information" Jeffrey sighed.

"This sucks" you moaned,

"I know baby" Jeffrey sighed, wrapping an arm around you and kissing the top of your head.

"I should probably get home" you told him, he pouted but nodded.

"Is it safe for me to take you?" he asked

"Probably not" you sighed, "I'll sneak out of the back and ring my friend to come get me once I've started walking"

"Will she not ask questions?" he asked, looking worried,

"It's not Neve" I confessed "My friend Nicola knows all about you, we can trust her"

"If you're sure" he agreed, you kissed his cheek and said goodbye. You wished you could stay over again, but you were still trying to hold out after what he did with Lucy, and now that she potentially knew about you, you didn't want to fall any deeper just in case it went sideways.

You snuck out the back garden and started walking in completely the wrong direction, you just couldn't risk being see near his house. You called Nicola and she told you she was on her way, no questions asked.

Once she picked you up, you updated her on everything, it had been a minute since you caught up, so there was a lot of juice and you ended up going out for tea so that you had more time to chat. Nicola was fuming about Jeffrey sleeping with Lucy....and equally mad at you for forgiving him so easily, but she didn't judge you, and would support you no matter what.

On Tuesday Neve picked you up as usual. She noted your low mood compared to the day before, but you just told her you'd been up late finishing your personal statement with the pointers Jeffrey had given you and were just tired. She accepted that excuse and proceeded to fill you in on her latest family drama.

You both only had half a day of lessons on a Tuesday but had agreed to spend the full day at college to catch up on assignments and revision.

You were heading for a breakout area to study when you stopped dead in your tracks, you were just walking past starbucks when you saw her. Lucy. She was staring right at you, her hand resting on the shoulder of none other than the cute Scotsman you had been dating not so long ago. She had her body angled towards him in a seductive manner and Stewart looked as happy as a pig in shit. You had no right to feel anything, Stewart could do whatever he wanted, but you were angry, not jealous....well maybe a little, but more angry that Lucy was clearly using the sweetest boy alive to get under your skin. She made you sick. She winked at you and continued laughing at something Stewart had said, he was oblivious to her goading you and hadn't even noticed you were there.

Before you knew what was happening, you were stood in front of his table.

"Hey Stewart" you interrupted, neither of them looked happy at your presence

"Hey" He replied, with no emotion in his voice, that stung.

"Can we talk?" you asked him,

"Sure" he sighed, grabbing his bag to follow you. "See you later" he smiled at Lucy, she gave him the most seductive smile and wrapped her hand around his arm as he stood,

"Oh you definitely will" she smirked, obviously loving winding you up.

Stewart followed you to the breakout area you had been heading for.

"You wanted to talk?" he asked as you both stood awkwardly.

"Shall we sit?" you asked, he nodded and you grabbed a table.

"So talk" he sighed

"I just wanted to apologise if you felt like I have behaved badly and make sure you were ok?" you waffled, Stewart seemed taken aback by your apology.

"You didn't behave badly" he sighed "I just wasn't expecting the rejection, I though we had something you know"

"We did" you told him, eyes apologetic "god we flirted in class for the whole of last year"

"Yeah we did" he chuckled

"But once we actually did something about it" you explained "the excitement, the spark just died out for me"

"You just liked the chase huh?" he smirked

"I guess so" you sighed, covering your face with your hands, "Does that make me an awful person?"

"No" he grinned "It makes you a flirt and a cock tease" you both burst out laughing,

"So are we ok?" you asked, "I don't want things to be weird between us now"

"We're good Grace" he smiled "I'd still like to be friends and grab coffee every now and then, I enjoy your company"

"As long as it is just coffee" you teased

"Believe me" he laughed "I know where I stand with you now"

You both decided to stay where you were to study together and the morning passed pretty quickly, once your first session started you were ready to focus, but no such luck.

"Grace there's a note for you" your tutor told you, handing over a piece of paper. It was from Jeffrey, saying he needed to speak with you urgently about your university application. What was he playing at! If Lucy found out he was calling you out of lessons, it would just give her more ammunition.

You made your excuses and headed for his room.

"Jeffrey what the hell, how could you be so brazen" you scolded as you walked into his room without knocking.

"Talking of brazen" he scoffed, that's when you realised he wasn't looking at you the way he normally did, he was mad. "What the fuck is this Grace!?" and he threw and envelope at you.

You looked at him confused as you opened the envelope and pulled out what was inside.

"That fucking bitch!" you exclaimed, it was a CCTV freeze frame of you and Stewart in the breakout area laughing. "She played me!"

Hey guys,

Hope you enjoyed this chapter....what do you think of Lucy's behaviour?

A comment on the previous chapter suggested that if I change it to first person narrative, it would be easier to read. Is this how all of you feel?

Please let me know and if the majority want me to change to first person then i will, so using "I" rather than "you" for Grace.

Lots of love xxxxxx
