The Movie - Part Four

"Eli, did you see that? Did you see your eyes?" Derek questioned excitedly as Addison and Jess looked at each other with wide eyes.

"How the hell am I supposed to see my eyes? They're the things I use to see!" Eli countered.

"They were glowing!" Addison spoke.

"What? They were?" He queried, looking around to find everyone nodding at him.

"Yeah." Addison answered happily, only for the Nogitsune to stand in the middle of them and roar out.

It then turned its attention back to the children and began approaching them once more. "DON'T!" Jess yelled as it wrapped its hand around Eli's neck.

"Tell me, Eli, do you like riddles?" The demon asked.

"Only demons do." Jess stated angrily, continuing to tug on the restraints.

"Jess..." Liam called out as the oni began approaching once more.

"I'm more of a limerick kind of guy. You know I like the rhyming." Eli answered nervously.

"Let's put two of the players back in the game." The Nogitsune spoke, removing the chains off of Addison and Eli and throwing them through the air, causing them to disappear in black smoke.

"NO!" The parents shouted.

"Someone's watching us..." Jess said, looking around.

"Yeah there's 8 Onis watching us stood right there." Liam responded.

"No not them." She replied, causing everyone to begin searching but to no avail.

After a few moments of silence, Stilinski spoke. "You didn't change." He said to Derek.

The former alpha turned to look at the sheriff. "What?"

"When they took Eli and Addi, you didn't change." 

"He means you didn't transform in front of your children." Deaton explained.

Derek leant his head back against the post. "I haven't. They haven't seen me like that. Not since the first time."

"Ok what was the first time?" Noah asked.

The wolf sighed. "I don't know if they even remember. They might've been too young."

"They were." Jess stated. "I was out with Malia, we'd taken Addi with us."

"Eli was with me and coyotes had come into the house. They clawed through the screen door. He was playing on the floor and they were heading straight for him. I transformed instantly. Roared so loud it shook the entire house. Coyotes took off and there was Eli, looking up at me and he was shaking, he was... He was terrified. He wouldn't let me come near him for days. That look of fear in his eyes when he saw me, I couldn't get it out of my head."

"That's why he can't change." Deaton realised.

Derek nodded. "I think every time he starts to or maybe every time he tries, he must see my face snarling back at him." 

"He loves you, Der. I can promise you that. You're not a monster, you were trying to protect our son." Jess stated.

They all stood in silence for a while, listening to the game being played when they heard the two coaches speaking.

"Where did this kid come from?" The coach from the other school questioned. "Is he even in high school?"

"That's one of my best students." Coach Finstock replied.

"He looks like he's 30. Who the hell is that?"
