Thank god this time, dinner isn't with a Jeffrey Dahmer family.

"Well everyone, dinner is served. Come on, lets eat." Walter said. We all went to the dining tables. Me and Clem saw the two tables the cabin group was at, and Kenny was at. We sat with Kenny. They handed us our bowls and we started eating. "So we were just talking. Whats the deal with the kid? Whats his name...Luke? He in charge? You trust him?" Kenny asked. I figured he would since they don't know them.
"Yeah. He's a good guy." Clem said.
"Would you trust him with your life?"
"I'd trust him to be at my wedding and my funeral." I said.
"That guy, Big Al...he said they're on the run."
"Some people are after them." Clem told them.
"You won't need to worry about that no more. They leave tomorrow, and you stay here." Kenny said.
"We'd love to stay with you, Kenny." Clem said.
"Dang right. We're tired of running for a while." I added.
"Damnit, i am so happy right now I can't even tell you." Kenny exclaimed with a wide smile on his face. I knew Kenny was happy we were here, but him acting like an excited puppy solidified it. Sarita and Walter moved to the other table and Nick and Luke came to our table. "Hey there." Kenny said to Luke. "Hope you're enjoying the food."
"Oh, yeah. its...its great." Luke said, sounding somewhat nervous.
"Peaches and beans. Good for nutrition. Not so good on the way out though, i tell ya." Kenny started laughing. I couldn't help but smile at Kenny's humor. "So its Luke...and Nick. Luke and Nick. You two sure do look like a match."
"Whats that supposed to mean?" Nick asked.
"I'm just saying you look like good friends, thats all." Kenny added.
"So, y'all staying for the winter?" Luke asked Kenny.
"Actually we're thinking of moving on. Somewhere up north. Ever heard of a place called Wellington?" Kenny asked.
"Yeah, we were going there." Clementine said.
"Its a community up near Michigan."
"Michigan?"
"You got a hearing problem, kid? Yeah, Michigan." Kenny said. "Think about it. Fresh water, lots of land, and cold ass winters so the walkers are slow."
"Sounds like bullshit." Nick said.
"Listen, Vanilla Ice, I don't know what your deal is, but you're more than welcome to take off in the morning." Kenny snapped at Nick.
"That's be just fine by me." Nick told Kenny.
"Whats the deal with these guys, Clem?"
"Hey, fuck you, buddy."
"Please, don't fight." Clem said.
"Gentlemen, please. There's no need for this." Walter said. Kenny looked at Clem. "Pass me that can, Duck." Kenny said. Both of us looked at Kenny. He snapped back and realized what he said and sighed. "Duck was his son..." I told Luke. Luke looked at Kenny. "Hey, Clementine. Would you, uh, lend me a hand outside for a moment?" Walter asked. Clem finished her food and followed Walter outside.

Clementine's POV...
Walter and I went outside. "Sorry about all of that." Walter said. "I used to be a teacher and i remember what its like to be caught up in the middle of two cliques." Walter added. "I suspect they'll find common ground soon."
"I want to stay." I told Walter. It was amazing being back with Kenny. I could tell Y/n was happy to be back too. I'm sure he'd like to stay as well.
"Then stay you shall." Walter said, happily. "Hey. Let me tell you something. Lots of people believe this is the end of the world. I'll tell ya a secret; its not. People are more political now than they were before." He said. "In the end, all we can do is continue to learn from each other to emphasize and use our heads. 'All war is a symptom of a man's failure as a thinking animal.' Steinbeck. Have you read him?"I shook my head. "Well, we have plenty of time to catch you up on your reading. My partner Matthew is amassing quite the literature collection. I think you'll like him."
When Walter mentioned Matthew's name again, i remembered the can from the train station. "In any case, the point is: as long as we have our wits about us, we can always make the right choice. Right?"
"Right." I said. Walter could tell something was getting to me. "Whats wrong, Clementine?" Walter asked, getting down to my level.
"I'm worried about your friend."
"Hey, kids. What're you two talking about?" Kenny asked. He came out with his rifle in his hands. "Politics." Walter told him.
"The hell?"
"Being from Florida, i assume you know a lot about politics, Kenny."
"Good part of livin' in the apocalypse is don't need to talk about that anymore." Kenny said. "I was gonna check the back windows before that storm hits. Give me a hand?"
"Sure." Walter said. Me and Walter followed Kenny back. We saw a woman at the back. Kenny was about to say something, but Walter stopped him. "Miss?" The woman looked at us. "Do you have any food?" She asked.
"Is everything alright?"
"I saw the house and...i have a family. We're starving."
"Of course. Why don't you come in, miss..."
"Bonnie." She said.
"We don't know this girl." Kenny said.
"Then we'll have to get to know her."
"Check her for weapons." I suggested. Kenny agreed.
"Thank you. Really. But that storm'll be on us soon and i gotta get back to my family." Bonnie told us.
"I'll bring something out for you."
"What about your people?"
"We got plenty. You stay put. I'll be right back." Walter went inside. Bonnie looked at me. "I have a little girl like you. How old are you, sweetie?" She asked.
"I'm eleven."
"I would have thought older." She said. Walter came back with a box full of food. "I don't know how to thank you."
"Just help someone else down the line."
"Thank you so much. I'll be going now." Bonnie turned around and left. "Clem, why don't you go on inside? Walt and I gotta talk for a second." Kenny said. I went inside the lodge.

Y/n's POV...
"Clementine!" I whispered to Clem. She looked at me. She came over and saw Luke with me. "That guy on the bridge was Walter's friend." Luke said.
"We gotta tell him." I said.
"Y/n's right. We should tell him. Its the right thing to do." Clem said.
"Here's the plan. Go get rid of that knife. I'm gonna go run interference. And keep an eye out for Nick."
"I'm right here. What's up?" Nick asked.
"We have to tell you something." Clem said. She showed him the photo. Nick took it and quickly put it together. "Oh man. Oh Jesus. Oh god."
"Goddamnit...hey, Nick, shut the fuck up." Luke told him.
"I can't, man. I can't." Nick said.
"Don't fucking blow it."
"Blow it? Its over. I have to tell him, Luke."
"Yeah. You should." I said. "Clem, go deal with the knife." I told my sister. She went to our bags. Then she went outside.
