Episode 3: Getting to Work

Clementine's POV...
I woke up to the feeling of a foot tapping my chest. I looked up and saw Troy staring down at me. "Don't kick me." I told him. He just strengthened his stare. "Its rude."
"Get up. Bill's gonna have a word." Troy told me.

Troy's POV...
I might remember that.

Y/n's POV...
Clementine walked over to us as Carver, or as these people call him, "Bill", showed up. I couldn't care less if he goes is William, Freddy, Tony, or Bill. I'm gonna call him Carver. Anyway, Clementine came to me. In the room still with us was Rebecca, Reggie, Carlos, Sarah, and Sarita. "How's you sleep?" Sarah asked while Carver was talking about an approaching herd and how to introduce us to their community. "Shush!" Clem said.
"Sorry." Sarah said. She still didn't listen however. "I just thought it nice to finally--"
"CARLOS!" Carver shouted his name. The doctor looked at Carver, distress in his eyes. "Yes?"
"It seems your child is in need of correction." Carver said.
"Right. Uh, Sarah, honey? Please apologize to Mr Carver." Carlos said in probably the most nervous tone he's let out. "S-sorry." Sarah said.
"That ain't gonna cut it. I can't have this behavior on day one of your reform. You discipline her now Carlos." Carver said.
"How do you propose I..."
"One good smack across the mouth should do it. It'll make her think twice before opening it up again." Carver suggested. Carlos looked at Sarah. "I'm not sure that with my hand..."
"Well, you got two hands for a reason. Do it or Troy will do it for you. He can be...overzealous. Is that the word?"
"If it means I'll slap the shit out of her, then yeah." Troy said. Carlos closed his eyes and looked at Sarah. "Close your eyes, honey. Its only gonna sting for a second." He said. He slapped her, knocking her to the ground and leaving a bruise. "Oh my god." I whispered.
"Troy, get Carlos to his post. Everyone else should have their assignments. Its time to get to work." Carlos said.
"Clementine. Y/n. You're working in the armory. Follow me." Tavia said.

While walking to the armory behind Tavia, we saw two women talking about us "Who are they?"
"They're two of the new people. They were with Carlos and Sarah and--"
"Ugh, Sarah, I wish she'd stay gone."
"She's had a hard time."
"So have we. We're not sitting around--"
"Ma'am we're going to the armory to test guns or whatever, and you guys are standing around talking. Technically, YOU are sitting around." I said before continuing.
"Sorry about Becca." One of them said as we continued walking. "Bonnie's waiting." Tavia said. We walked in and met with her. There was a table with a box full of ammo and gun magazines. "We're loading magazines." She told us. We both grabbed one and started filling the magazines with bullets. "I wanted to apologize. I was dishonest with y'all at the lodge. Now folks are dead and I can't help but feel I'm to blame." She said.
"Carver's the one who pulled the trigger. He's to blame." Clementine said.
"I know. But i didn't do anything to stop it. I thought i could control it." Bonnie said. "So, how was your first night in the yard?"
"The yard?" I asked. "Oh, you mean the prison?"
"Its not a prison, its more of a work release."
"Pretty sure those were in prisons." I said.
"Probably. I don't know... I never been to prison."
"I can tell." I said. Bonnie then told us how she chickened out of leaving whenever Luke and the cabin group left. Then she mentioned the herd. "Herds have come through before?" Clementine asked.
"Yeah... its happened a few times. We always make it out on the other end all right." Bonnie said. "I'm sure defending a group this big would make anybody stressed."
"Carver killed Walter, and would've killed Alvin if Y/n didn't protect him. He could have also killed Y/n." Clem said. I hugged my sister as her voice started to go down. "I'm not going anywhere." I told her.
"Kenny could've killed us all. Bill was in the heat of the moment and he overreacted." Bonnie said.
We continued working. "Uhh, one thing. How did you get here?" I asked.
"Me and five other people were found by Tavia and she brought us all here." Bonnie told us.
"Hey, Bonnie? Are those kids down there?" She heard on her talkie. She grabbed it and told Tavia we were here. "Whats going on?" I asked.
"Tavia needs y'all for something." Bonnie told us. "Oh, almost forgot." She said. She gave Clementine a blue jacket. "Figured it'd be your size." Clementine took the jacket and put it on. "Also saw this there." Bonnie handed me a camouflage jacket that was a little big. "I suppose I'll grow into it." I said.
"There ya go, champ." Bonnie said.
"Hey Bonnie. Whats with the ugly jackets?" Tavia asked.
"Tavia."
"What? C'mon." She motioned for us to follow her.
