The amount of time it took me to find this picture -_- ^^^
I shoved a roll of wrapping in my pocket, ready for any injuries I may have to tend to when I enter the mines.
I strapped on my shield holder tight against my body, sliding daggers into the slots across my chest and setting my ax at my hip.
I got everything I could possibly need and stepped out of my hut, finding Edith or Thore to inform them I was leaving.
"You look ready for something." said Murphy who was laying a thin piece of meat on the drying rack.
"You're fitting in." I made a change of subject.
"Does this get up have to do with the bruises on your face?" He gestured to me.
I tilted my head. "get up?"
"Your uh, clothes, weapons."
"Oh, yes." I replied, looking around for any sight of my closest friend. "I'm going on a search and rescue mission, some reapers took my people."
"Reapers... they don't sound too friendly."
"They're not. Have you seen Edith? Or Thore?" I asked.
"Who?" He frowned.
"The one that was here before, the woman." I explained, forgetting he hadn't been here for that long.
"Oh, yeah, she went down to the docks."
I nodded and turned away.
"Hey, Thea." He called after me.
I turned and gave him my attention.
"This mission, I want in."
I scoffed and raised an eyebrow. "If you're up for it, why not."
I turned back around and walked quickly to the docks and finally found Edith.
"E!" I called. She turned from inside the boat and looked at me expectantly. "Me and two shields are going on the search, hold down the fort while I'm gone."
"Who you taking?" She asked, stepping off the boat and on to the wooden dock.
"Shrimp and the new one." I replied.
"You sure about that? You think they're gonna be able to survive that?" She raised an eyebrow.
I raised one back. "Why, are you going to lose sleep over it E? Has someone grown fond?" I jived.
She let out a sharp exhale, like a laugh and rolled her eyes. "Someone sure has." she smirked when her eyes landed on me again.
I rolled my eyes at her and we both turned away chuckling to ourselves.
I walked over to the gate and saw Adrian watching Murphy with and intrigued gaze.
I neared and he leaned over to whisper. "Does he even know how to use an ax?"
I looked over my shoulder to see him, watching him examine the weapon in his hand. "I'm sure he'll figure it out."
"Why are you putting so much faith into him? Why is he even here? Being treated like an equal more so!" He hissed.
"I put faith in you didn't I? He is human isn't he? So why should we treat him as less?" I snapped. "If you have a problem with my decisions Shrimp, you can meet me at the pits when John and I return." I growled, getting up in his face.
He swallowed and diverted his eyes from mine. "I just don't understand is all."
"Get over the fact he beat you and suck it up," I clapped him hard on the shoulders, turning away to go out to gate. "Next time I won't be so patient with your whining."
