❝ 𝐬𝐡𝐮𝐭 𝐮𝐩 𝐛𝐞𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐞 𝐈 𝐤𝐢𝐬𝐬 𝐲𝐨𝐮 ❞

With two bowls of ice cream, Kenadie made her way back outside to her boyfriend Nick.
Today was one of the hottest days of the year, which the two had spent half the day swimming in the pool, sunbathing, lounging and barbecuing.
Outside, Kenadie found Nick lying on one of the many loungers lined up around the pool.
The older man was lying on his back on the lounger and seemed to have been dozing a bit since Kenadie had made her way into the house, where she had first washed the rest of the dishes and then finished the ice cream.
"Babe?" , she asked softly. She knew she had to wake Nick up, otherwise the ice cream would melt. However, Kenadie loved to watch her boyfriend sleep, so she was rather reluctant to wake him.
She got a grumble from the older one in response and shortly after he turned over on his back and pushed his sunglasses back on his nose before gratefully accepting the ice cream and Kenadie dropped down on the couch next to him:
"Thanks" , Nick mumbled as he shoveled a spoonful of ice cream into his mouth.
"We really need to buy some new ice cream" , Kenadie said and also began to eat her ice cream, which slowly began to melt.
In the last few days, the two had eaten almost all of their ice cream supply, so tomorrow there would be no way around getting more.
"We'll get more tomorrow and double it," Nick promised his girlfriend, because he knew how much Kenadie liked ice cream.
In fact, he also really liked to eat ice cream, but not as much as Kenadie, because she could actually eat ice cream all the time.
No matter how late it was.
Silently, the two ate the rest of their ice cream while the sun was already beating down on them almost hotly, so Kenadie decided to swim a few laps in the pool again right away.
"Honey?" , Nick eventually broke the silence and placed his empty bowl on the grass before sitting up and swinging his legs to the side so his knees touched Kenadie's.
"Yeah?"
Kenadie finished the last spoonful of her ice cream before doing the same to Nick and placing the bowl in the grass as well before Nick's cold fingers, because of the ice cream, reached for hers.
"What's wrong?" , she asked him worriedly as she intertwined her fingers with his and spotted the small wrinkle on his forehead that always appeared when something was bothering him.
"I'd like to make our relationship public."
Nick looked Kenadie in the eye as he carefully said it.
In fact, the older man had repeatedly expressed that he would like to make his relationship with Kenadie public.
But Kenadie was afraid.
She was afraid of how the fans would react.
She was afraid of getting stupid comments or even hate.
In fact, she had heard from Nick one or the other time that it had happened that some girlfriend got hate.
And Kenadie would gladly do without that.
"Nick..." she began, but the older man interrupted her and squeezed her hands gently.
"I know you're scared and I can't assure you that everything will go smoothly, but I can promise you that I'll be there for you, you hear? I will be by your side, be there for you and do everything I can to make you feel comfortable and be ready with ice and cheer you up if you get comments like that, okay? And then I'm going to keep saying loving words to you so that you forget all these stupid hate comments that people write who aren't happy with their own lives, okay?"
Once again, Nick looked Kenadie firmly in the eye.
Kenadie knew Nick meant every word of it, but despite all that gal g she didn't agree with him.
"I don't know if I'm ready. What if they don't accept me as your girlfriend?"
Uncertainly, the younger looked at her boyfriend, who carefully pulled Kenadie over to him on his couch and then wrapped his arms around her.
"Babe, why wouldn't they like you? My whole team loves you, so my fans will like you too" , he assured her, placing a kiss on her still slightly damp hair.
"I'm scared, Nick. What if all this is not for me?" , she spoke her fear openly.
"Babe, I'm not going to make you do anything, okay? We'll post a picture or a story on Instagram where we announce that you're my girlfriend. Nothing more if that's not what you want. Your Instagram account can stay private. I just want everyone to know what a great woman is by my side. You might get approached by fans at a game every now and then and maybe asked for a photo, but that's it," , he assured her as she carefully snuggled closer to him and she let all his words run through her mind.
"Okay," she finally agreed with him, whereupon Nick pressed another kiss on her hair and then picked up his cell phone to choose a suitable photo together with Kenadie.
"How about this one?" , Nick asked again, after Kenadie had repeatedly been quite unhappy with the choice of pictures.
Nick pointed to a photo of him and Kenadie piggybacking on Nick's back, looking down at Nick in love, while he looked up at her in love.
"That makes me look weird." , she said, eliciting a sigh from Nick.
"What?"
"You didn't look weird in any of the photos so far, you looked perfect, like always".
Nick looked down at Kenadie, who sighed softly.
"But what if they all think it's stupid or childish?" , she tried again.
"Shut up before I kiss you" , he said with a grin, whereupon he received a light slap on the chest from Kenadie.
"Not so cocky, Bosa," she admonished him with a giggle, whereupon Nick laughed softly.
"So we'll take that?" , he asked, making sure Kenadie agreed.
"I was actually going to protest some more so I could get a kiss."
With a wide grin on her lips, she looked up at him.
"Think you'll get it that way," he breathed almost against her lips before closing the last few inches between them and kissing her afterwards.
Shortly after the two broke away from each other, Nick opened Instagram, selected the picture and then posted the picture with the caption "My better half ❤️"
