Dakota opened her eyes, grumbling as the rain pattered against the window pane, leaving countless small stains.

It was quite dark in the bedroom, even though it was already late in the morning and she had forgotten to draw the dark curtains yesterday.

There was no brightness in the thick rain clouds that hid the blue sky and the rain that was already lightly flooding the streets.

Dakota pulled the blanket up a little higher so that her chin disappeared under the light-colored cover and then turned to her friend Damar, who still seemed to be slumbering peacefully.

A smile formed on Dakota's lips as she watched her boyfriend lie there with his mouth slightly open, snoring softly.

Every morning, Dakota took a few minutes to watch her boyfriend sleep until she woke him gently with kisses that she would spread over his face in a few minutes.

Damar looked so peaceful and cute while he slept that Dakota could never get enough of the sight.

But today, Damar seemed to catch Dakota watching him.

The Bills player slowly opened his eyes, causing Dakota to flinch back in shock.

"What are you doing?" Damar yawned and then began rubbing his eyes.

"Me? Oh, nothing," Dakota began to say as she stuffed a few pillows into her back so she could lean comfortably against the end of the bed.

"It didn't look like anything yet," Damar smiled and began to stretch with relish before sitting up after taking a quick look at the alarm clock.

"I just woke up because of the rain and wanted to see if you were still asleep," She only told him half the truth, because she was a little embarrassed to tell Damar that she watched him sleep for a few minutes every morning.

The Bills star next to her nodded as he also glanced out of the window, where it was beginning to rain quite heavily.

"Stupid weather," he mumbled as he wrapped his arms around Dakota and then pressed a good morning kiss to her lips.

"I'd like to stay in bed all day in this weather," Dakota yawned as she snuggled into her boyfriend's strong arms and closed her eyes once more.

"We have some plans," Damar reminded his girlfriend as he gently stroked her hair and looked through the window at the street, lost in thought.

"It can wait," Dakota mumbled with her eyes closed as she enjoyed the closeness of her boyfriend.

"It's getting late," Damar began with a grin as he released the arms that had been in Dakota's so far.

"Let's just stay in bed for five more minutes."
Dakota's voice sounded almost pleading as she opened her eyes again and looked up at her friend.

She gave him that certain look that Damar could never resist, so the older man gave in without hesitation and wrapped his arms around his girlfriend again.

Maybe another five minutes in bed wasn't such a bad thing, because it meant they could enjoy each other's closeness for a little longer and maybe in five minutes the rain would finally stop and, with any luck, the sun would come out again.
