"You're going to love it, Valentina," Valentina's best friend Luisa repeated the phrase for probably the fifteenth time as they walked up the stadium steps to get to their seats.
Every now and then, Valentina dodged a few fans in leotards while reflexively clutching her purse a little tighter.
A week ago, Luisa had literally ambushed her to accompany her to a Bengals game for which she had won tickets in a raffle.
To be honest, Valentina had a bit of experience in football through her older brothers, having watched the occasional game and picked up on some of the terminology that her older brothers usually talked about at the table.
"Let's hope so, otherwise I'll be sitting around here bored for the next while," Valentina replied with a grin when they finally reached the top and she literally gasped for air.
She would never have thought that it would be so exhausting to have to climb so many stairs.
"You won't. In the end, you'll thank me for dragging you up here with me."
Her best friend threw her a wink before she squeezed through the row of seats to where the two of them were seated and Valentina did the same, apologizing to me repeatedly for accidentally bumping into a leg or touching one person or another with my bag.
However, the aisle between the rows was also so narrow that Valentina more or less couldn't help it, because how thin should one please make oneself so as not to touch anyone? That was almost impossible.
When she finally dropped onto the stadium's plastic chair a few "sorrys" later, Valentina blew a strand that had come loose from her braid out of her face.
"This is almost worse than sports," she almost pouted as she put her purse on her lap and then rubbed her forehead.
"Oh, Val. Don't be like that." Luisa was already formally rebuking to her right, while a wide grin crept onto her lips and she pulled her cell phone out of her purse and shortly thereafter began to make a few Instagram stories to post afterwards.
While her best friend was completely busy with her social media account, Valentina was busy looking around the big - almost huge - stadium.
She immediately began to wonder how full it would be in a few minutes and whether it would be completely sold out.
While the stadium began to fill more and more from minute to minute and the volume level increased more and more, Valentina's anticipation for the game began to rise and she was curious to see how she would like football.

"That was really awesome!" Valentina literally screamed in her best friend's ear as she raked in so that neither of them would get lost in all the commotion.
