Soft music filled the interior of the car as Trent sat behind the wheel and steered the car through traffic.
Just a few minutes ago, you, Trent and Trent's teammates had spent time together at Patrick's birthday party.
It had been a really nice afternoon and you had really enjoyed yourself.
So far, you had been a bit reserved at every event that had to do with Trent's job and his colleagues.
This wasn't because you weren't interested in taking part in your friend's football world, but rather because you were quite shy and reserved when it came to new situations and lots of strangers.
But on Patrick's birthday, you had been like a different person, so that you had not only got into countless conversations with the girlfriends or wives, but had also taken part in one or two conversations with Trent and his colleagues.
But you had particularly enjoyed playing with the smallest Mahomes members.
Bronze and Sterling had kept you so busy that you had spent most of your time with them on the bouncy castle, which had been provided especially for the little ones.
But now the tiredness was slowly creeping up on you and you let out a soft yawn.
"That was a bit exhausting today, wasn't it?" your boyfriend grinned as he looked over at you briefly.
"Yes, but it really was a great afternoon. I'm really glad I was there."
A smile crept onto your lips as you looked back on the day.
"I thought so too. And it was really sweet to see you interacting with the children," your boyfriend gushed as he stopped at the red light and turned his full attention to you.
"They're also really incredibly cute" you began to gush again. Because it wasn't the first time today that you had raved about the smallest members of the Mahomes family.
"They really are," he agreed, placing his free hand on your bare knee.
For today, you had chosen a red dress that reached just above your thigh to dress a little more chic and, above all, to match the Chiefs' colors.
As the traffic light turned green and Trent drove on, dark clouds began to gather in front of the sun and shortly afterwards the first drops of rain began to fall from them, pattering down on the windshield of Trent's car.
"We were really lucky with the weather. Luckily it didn't rain earlier. That would have ruined the great garden party," you said, voicing your thoughts as countless more drops of water pattered down.
