I love cupcakes. 'Tis true. Bonnie was more than glad to see us. I ordered a vanilla cupcake with purple delicious buttercream icing while Elena chose a chocolate cupcake with rich milk chocolate icing. We sat at a table and Bonnie took her fifteen minute break with us. "So how was the Salvatore house?" Bonnie asked me. Elena and I exchanged looks and laughed. Of course we had to fill Bonnie in on the 'towel' incident. She shared a laugh with us. "Has it been busy today?" Elena inquired. Bonnie breathed. "Uhm, not too bad actually."
"I should get a job here," I thought out loud.
"YES!" Bonnie sat up straight eyes amplified. "Please!"
I chuckled. "Maybe. Get me an application." She was more than happy to run back and get one. While she did, Elena dipped her index finger in her icing. "So have you heard from your friends today?" She was so sincere, I love her!
"No," I frowned.
She sympathized. "I'm sorry. Are you going to visit your mom again soon?"
I actually hadn't planned all that jazz out. "I don't know...it's like an eight hour drive..."
"Oh, I'm really sorry, Noelle."
I hadn't realized how much I missed mom. Bonnie returned and slipped the application across the table. "Thanks," I murmured. "Hey!" Elena cheered. "Maybe next month or something, we could take a roadtrip to your hometown! We could meet your mom and go with you!"
Bonnie chimed in. "Plus who doesn't like a friend roadtrip!"
"Guys you're so thoughtful! We should do that!"
"Ok, then its settled!" Elena smiled, glad to cheer me up. Buzz, buzz. My phone. I grabbed it out of my pocket. It was from Matt. "Matt keeps wanting to hang out with me," I proclaimed.
"Then why don't you? Matt's a nice guy Noelle," said Elena. Bonnie bobbed her head in agreement. "I know, but..."
"But what?" tested Elena.
"I don't know! I think we like each other but I kind of wish he would just say so. But I feel bad..."
"Why?" queried Bonnie.
"Because I like someone else kinda..."
"Owen?" Elena guessed.
"No..." I was almost trying not to look them in the eye. But when I did I think they understood. I was trying not to crack up.
"Tell us who," Bonnie demanded.
"Damon..."
"Ew!" They both cried.
"What is so bad about him!"
