I ate breakfast and halfway through, the others joined us. Then we went back to the room, packed up, used the bathroom, and checked out.

Damon took the wheel and I sat beside him. We finished our journey until we reached Vincennes. It was around 2 o'clock and I called mom. She told us she would meet us at grandma and grandpa's. All my mom's family lived in Illinios right over the bridge that connects to Vin.

We pulled in and mom ran out, my grandparents following. I jumped out of the car before Damon even stopped. Mom and I both had tears in our eyes as we embraced. Then I hugged my grandparents. The others shuffled out of the van and started grabbing their luggage, but dropped it in the driveway when they went to shake hands. Although Caroline, being her extraordinary self, decided hugs were in order instead of handshakes.

We were ushered inside where I showed them to their rooms. The girls shared one room that had two beds (one a twin, the other bigger), then Damon grabbed one of the bigger rooms and made Stefan take the smaller one.

Grandma cooked us lunch. Mom told us that she planned a get together tonight. My aunt loves camping, so the whole family is going to the campgrounds for supper. I was nervous and excited for my friends to meet my family. I glanced at Damon. He was smiling warmly at me.
