Two nights later, Bonnie, Elena, and I were hanging out at Caroline's. She was slightly freaking out. Since she was crowned Miss Mystic Falls last year, she has the duty of planning specific town events like the week-long activities coming up in three days.
"Ooh, what's that?" I asked.
Bonnie answered with "It's a celebration. Something to do with winning a war back in the day or something."
"Ugh no!" Caroline cried. "The Europeans tried to take the town away from the Founding Families. We stood our ground and some blood was shed, but in the end we kept our town."
"Like I said," Bonnie smirked," poking fun at Care. "We celebrate everything."
"I like that," I said. "So what kind of activities?"
Caroline snatched her thick binder and dropped it on her lap, opening it. "Well," she began, "Monday there's a parade."
"Cool," I smiled. I loved celebrations like this and Mystic Falls took their celebrations very seriously. It's a big deal."
"Can I count on you guys to help?" Care asked. I, along with the other two, happily agreed. "Good. We'll be dressing up in old dresses. I need some men. Matt said he could be in it." I slightly cringed at Matt. We were still going to be friends, but at first it's going to be awkward.
"Stefan will. Maybe even Damon too," Elena suggested.
Caroline's eyes narrowed. "Like I can count on Damon to help."
Elena gave her a look and Caroline dropped the Damon subject. "Tuesday," she began again, "will be the craft show. Wednesday is a turkey shoot that I thankfully have nothing to do with. Thursday is a concert with a local band. Friday is movie night we plan on showing a romcom early evening and then a horror afterwards. Saturday afternoon is contests and games. Saturday night is the ball and Sunday is the picnic."
"It sounds so fun!" I exclaimed, excited.
"It's stressful," Caroline huffed.
"We're your wing women," Elena informed. "We're here to help along the way."

That night I sat on my bed and looked over all the copies Caroline made for us. It was a detailed itinerary with added notes, in our own little binders. I was more than happy to help! The parade Monday was at noon. I was excited to wear old Victorian dresses and get our hair curled and have people look at me, all dressed up. Tuesday the craft show will be noon to four. I told Caroline I could sell my photography pictures and baked goods. She was thrilled. Wednesday was a break for us girls. It was a guy's thing and there were men that were taking care of it. The band on Thursday was going to be playing in the evening. The movie on Friday starts at eight. The games and contests on Saturday afternoon are supposed to be old-school ones like tying two peoples' legs together and running, potato sack hop, dunking, etc. Caroline wants us all to have a date for the ball. Great. This makes me nervous. I don't know who I'm going to ask! I hope someone asks me but I'm sure they won't. Anyways, I told Caroline I would bake for the picnic. I have a busy week ahead of me and I'm really glad about it.
