It had been the happiest day of my life.
As a little kid, my life goal was to be a staff member or ICT-er for an esports group.
At just five years old, I discovered a world where I belonged – the language of coding. I loved the moment when my code executed flawlessly, and my creation came to life.
My dad, who was the one who got me into coding, would always support me with anything I created, "That's incredible, Lily," he always said. "You're like a wizard with your computer, a wizard of code!"
Even my teacher was impressed whenever I fixed the tiny problems on her PC. My motto became: "Have you tried unplugging it and plugging it back in again?".
But when I was eight, my world was forever changed. My mother became the most beautiful star in the whole universe. I remember her telling me: "Don't ever give up on your dream. Believe in it as hard as I believe in you. I'm so proud of you." To this day, her words wander around my mind.
Now here I am, twelve years later. Five weeks after I had graduated, in the bus traveling to the Atlanta Reign facility. It was a team for my favorite esports, the Overwatch League. I was lucky, because one of my childhood friends, Charlie Zwarg - also known as Nero - a player for the team, got me the job. And without him, I would have never realized my dream.
