Chapter 8.3

Hawk's POV

An hour and a bit later, Ojee woke me up. We had arrived. We left the bus with our luggage and walked to the hotel. Everyone looked sleepy and some were complaining about the scrims we had tomorrow.

I walked next to Lily, "Are you okay?" I asked her. She was shivering and seemed half asleep. She looked up at me and nodded, "I'm really tired." she said. Her voice was weak and she craved some sleep. If she didn't have to walk, she would've fallen asleep right now.

"Here, give me your case." I offered to help her. It was only a small case, so I didn't mind.

"But-" she protested.

"Don't worry, we're almost there." I smiled and reached out to take her case.

"Thank you." she tried to smile. 

We got into the hotel and got our keys. The rooms were on the third floor and were all next to each other. Everyone disappeared into their chambers. I dropped Lily's luggage in her room, which was only two doors away from mine and Nero's.

"I'll leave this here." I put her luggage next to her bed, "You go sleep now." 

Lily dropped into her bed, "Thanks, and I will."

I had almost left her room, but then she turned to me, "Goodnight Xander." she said with a big bright smile on her face. It was the first time she had called me by my real name. I was used to her calling me Hawk, but I certainly liked this. "Goodnight Lily," I smirked and left the room.

I got to my room and found Nero already lying knock-out and snoring on his bed. "Goodnight to you too, Charlie." I laughed and also went to bed. 

Lily's POV

"Hey, sweetheart." I was woken up by Frana, "It's time to wake up." 

I groaned and turned around in my bed. "Lily, wake up, or should I go get one of the boys to get you out of bed? Maybe Hawk?" she pulled my sheet off the bed. "Nono! I'm awake." I got up and rubbed my eyes. "How did you get in?" I asked her. 

"Who knows." Frana giggled, "Breakfast starts in 15 minutes." She then left the room and I prepared myself. I put on my IT shirt I got from the ATL staff team, a baggy black sweatpants. Over that, I put on my much too-large hoodie with the text: "Have you tried unplugging it and plugging it back in again?" 

I was on my way to the breakfast hall, knowing that I was going to be too late when someone bumped into me. He grabbed me by my hips before I fell. "I'm sorry, I didn't see you there." he quickly let me go.

"It's okay, no need to apologize." I brought out and took a good look at the boy. He had brown curly hair, which showed he just got out of bed. He wore big glasses and a grey shirt - which was more like a jersey - with a logo I didn't recognize. "No, I should. I shouldn't have rushed through the halls without looking." he scratched his neck and looked away. 

"Samm! C'mon, we have scrims soon!" someone yelled at the boy in front of me. So he was also an Overwatch League player I realized. I wanted to ask him what team he played, but he had to go.

"That's my queue to go, again, I'm so sorry. But let's talk again later!" he ran after the other boy and waved. 

"Sure-" I said quietly. The boy had called him Samm. Didn't Kai have a friend named Samm? I sure had to ask Kai about it later. 

I wandered through the halls till I found the elevator. I pushed on the button and waited. Yup, I was going to be way too late. The elevator wasn't empty when it arrived, but I smiled awkwardly and entered it. I bashfully looked down at my feet till I had to get out. 

I ran to the dining hall to find the rest of the team sitting around a big round table. 

"Lily! You're late." Ultraviolet yelled. 

"I'm sorry I'm sorry. I couldn't find the way." 

Frana waved at me, "Lily, next to me!" She had saved a chair next to her for me. I took the seat and thanked her. 

"Good morning sleepyhead." sounded from the seat next to me on the other side: it was Hawk. "Good morning." I pouted. I didn't like the new nickname but just accepted it.

"Did you sleep well?" he asked. I recalled he was very worried about me yesterday night. 

"Yes, I have." I said, "I'm ready to fix some malfunctioning PCs!" I knew it was a big lie. All I wanted was to crawl back into bed and sleep for multiple days. Not to mention that my tiredness was clearly visible through my large eye bags.

I feel like my writing is getting a lot better if I describe the characters a lot more :)
Idk This feels like a short chapter, but believe me, it's gonna be great the next few ones.
ALSO OMG SAMM SANTOS WE LOVE SAMM SANTOS! Imagine if we had some Lily x Samm that's totally not my plan I swear. :)
