Stargazing ✰

Chapter 9.2

"Samm, Lily, would you like to play along?" Kai asked us. I wasn't really in the mood to play anything, besides, I wanted to go stargazing with Hawk.

"Sure, what are we playing?" Samm wondered. 

"Truth or dare." Hydron cheered.

Samm directed his gaze to me, "If you participate, I'll join in as well." he ran his hand through his curly hair, "I wouldn't like leaving you alone here."

That sentence reminded me of yesterday night. Why are boys so consistently protective of me?

I didn't want to disappoint Kai, so I nodded and took place on the ground. We all sat in a circle. It was a little lame, I felt like I was a child. Samm took place next to me and over me sat Danteh.

Pelican started the game and asked Danteh "Truth or dare?".

As the game of TOD unfolded amidst laughter and banter among our group, I found myself drifting away from it. I glanced over at the bar, where Hawk and Ojee talked. At times, Hawk's gaze would flicker back toward me, only to swiftly shift his gaze away. 

I thought about yesterday. He still hadn't shared the matter he wanted to share with me that night. But that wasn't the only thing on my mind. That feeling when he held me in his arms, the butterflies in my stomach. Do... do I like him? Do I like-like him? I indeed felt something, but I wasn't sure what yet. 

Kai got me out of my maze of thoughts, "Lily, truth or dare?" he offered me. 

I didn't want to do something embarrassing, so I chose Truth. 

Kai paused briefly and then smirked, "Do you have a crush on someone from the League?"

His question made my face turn red. I was expecting a question like this, but I wasn't prepared for it. "Maybe yes." I blurted out, looking away from the group.

Everyone made those awful "Oee" sounds. "Tell me who!" Kai demanded me. 

"No! That's not part of the question!" I protested. I tried to avoid any more questions and continued the game. "Dante, truth or dare?"

The blond chuckled, "Dare." his drunk ass said.

"Okay," I wanted to see how far he would go, "I dare you to fervently lick Pelican's neck." 

We all waited patiently for his reaction. 

"Dare accepted." he said and came closer to his teammate. Dante licked Pelican's neck. "Ewww!" Pelican screamed. 

The other's laughed at them. Danteh apologized to his friend and then turned to me, "I'll get my revenge." he swore. Luckily he couldn't choose me next, because I had given him the TOD. 

Pelican whispered something in Danteh's ear, and the blonde looked up with a grin, "Samm, truth or dare?" 

"Dare." Samm shrugged. 

"I dare you, to kiss Lily. On the lips." Danteh's grin grew bigger. 

"What?" both Samm and I yelled.

I was scared. I had never kissed someone before. 

"I'll do it fast."

Samm interlocked his eyes with mine, his face blushing red. He cupped my cheek in his hand. I quickly closed my eyes as he brought his lips to mine. He softly put them against mine. Samm's touch made me feel warm inside. Butterflies fluttered around in my stomach once again. 

When he let me go he quickly looked away. 

Everyone laughed at our awkward moment and I didn't know what to do. I hid my face in my hands. I wanted to leave.
