Severus just finished writing a letter to Lily when he heard the phone ring. He stepped over to it and answered.
"Hello?" He said.
"Hi, Severus!" James beamed. His voice made Severus smile.
"Hey! Do you need something?"
"I just wanted to know when we're heading over to Britain?"
Severus quickly checked his calendar. "Next month. May 15, I believe." He hummed. "Anything else?"
"Yeah! Are you free to do anything today?"
"Of course! I really have nothing on my calendar for the next week."
James laughed. "Do you just want to hang out today? Or do you have anything specific you want to do?"
"Probably just hang out. I'll head over to your apartment when I'm done with work."
"Sounds good!"

Severus closed up for the day rather quickly. It must have been around 2:30 pm. He walked over to James' apartment, as he said he would, and James walked around town with him. They went to Maurice's for lunch, then went to Severus' apartment to hang out.
They mostly played with Lennon, though.
Lennon was probably James' favourite creature. Other than a stag, obviously. Severus liked watching how careful James would be when he picked her up. He was practically mesmerized by her.
Severus played a record of Killer Queen on his player, and they listened to that as Severus gave him a quick tour of the apartment.
They sat around in Severus' bedroom watching a DVD of The Sound of Music on his TV. James fell asleep on Severus' chest. Severus watched him silently. He was cute when he slept. Like a doe. Though, of course that made sense, considering his animagus.
Severus had made a habit of watching James. He did it a lot recently. He had started to notice the few freckles scattered across his tanned cheeks, and the faint scars on his fingers from those full moons a while ago. He had only recently noticed the different shades of brown in his mostly black hair.
Severus spent so much time staring at him he could barely ever hear a word he would say.
