Chapter 21: Mistakes

We find Ruby, Yang and Weiss in Team JNPR's dorm. Nora and Ren have left Beacon for the day. They didn't want anything to do with Jaune. Yang is leaning on the front door, ready to enjoy the show. She also occasionally writes on her scroll. Weiss is ever grumpy, sitting next to a forlorn Pyrrha on her bed. Jaune is on his knees with an angry Ruby in front of him. Blake is with Neo in the local Hospital. She rarely leaves the girl ever since the Incident.

Ruby: "Out of all the people on Remnant you had to hurt her? I still don't get why Jaune!"

Jaune: "Well she had my sword, Ruby. I just saw red."

Ruby: "Thats why? For your sword? IT JUST A FUCKING STEEL SWORD JAUNE! I CAN GET ONE MADE FOR THE PRICE OF A CASE OF CHEAP BEER!"

Weiss: "Why do you know the cost of beer?"

Ruby: "SHUT UP WEISS!"

 Pyrrha: "Listen Ruby. I know what he did was bad but--"

Ruby smacks Pyrrha in anger. This shocks Pyrrha for she knew that Ruby wasn't a violent girl. Well except for that one time she almost beheaded someone but that was because Y/N was a bad influence on her. She really mellowed out when he left for Atlas.

Ruby: "BAD!? NEO LOST HER FUCKING EYE! HOW DO YOU THINK HER FATHER IS GONNA REACT!?!"

Jaune: "WHAT!? I thought they were gonna fix that...."

Yang: "Nope. Sorry Jaune but Blake messaged that the surgery was a failure. You got her good."

Pyrrha: "Oh no...."

Weiss: "Are you happy now Jaune? You got your precious sword again. Hope it was worth it. Ambushing a child at night. Some hero you are."

Ruby crouches down to get on eye level with Jaune. She glares into his eyes and narrows her own. She was searching. Searching for anything worth saving. She saw red instead but decided to not act on her sudden anger. Someone else has first dibs on him. Ruby raised her hand spread out and began counting.

Ruby: "1. If this was Weiss, then I know Crimson wouldn't care. Not like you can hurt her anyway."

Weiss: "Crimson? I assume Y/N and yeah, I can see that.

Ruby: "That's his Pilot Name and you do hit him with that fan a lot. He tends to get a lot more ruthless when he puts the helmet on. Anyway, 2. You can never hurt Yang. He would only care enough to watch her beat you up."

Yang: "Your lucky I'm not doing so already Jaune."

Pyrrha: "I'm honestly surprised your team isn't."

Weiss: "I once thought you were smart Pyrrha."

Ruby: "3. You can't hurt me. But if you did then Crimson will beat you up. Maybe shoot you once or twice."

Jaune winched at the mention of being shot. He still vividly remembers his fight with him. Still has the scars that hurt every morning.

Ruby: "4. You can't hurt Blake. But if you did then Crimson will come down and most likely kill you."

Yang: "More so now that those two finally got together."

Weiss: "Not paying you that 10 Lien Pyrrha."

Ruby's countdown is only left with her middle finger. How poetic of her.

Ruby: "And finally Neo. The only reason you're still alive is that he isn't here yet. Don't expect a quick death. You harmed his precious Daughter. How do you think he will react? You Are Going To Suffer!"
