Chapter 24: Sentinels

So, it turns out that a few days really means a month. I'm doing some light paperwork at home when Yang and Neo return from getting groceries. It's been odd living with Yang. She takes care of Neo whenever I'm away on patrols or long meetings with Ironwood. She takes her to school and they either train or go out on the town. The school called me if she is my wife or something since, she shows up for parent conferences when I'm out of Atlas. I said no but they keep insisting otherwise. Neo really has become attach to her and at times I hear Yang squeal with joy over whatever Neo tells her. It got to the point that I had to buy a bigger bed to accommodate the three of us. I got tired sleeping on the couch. There isn't much awkwardness between us. I thought there will be such moments, but it never happened. This is too surreal. 

Yang: "Something wrong Ace?"

Y/N: "Feels weird is all."

Neo: "You're not kicking her out."

Y/N: "No, I'm not Neo. It's just weird that this feels so natural is all."

Yang: "Never thought of it like that. Oh well. Finish up and help with dinner."

Y/N: "Least you can cook without burning the place down now." 

Yang: "One time Ace!"

Neo: "Plus another twelve~"

Yang: "I trusted you Neo!"

What a lovely moment. Hope it continues this way for a while longer.

-------Roughly Two in the Morning------

*Knock* *Knock* *Knock*

Who the fuck is here at this ungodly hour!?

Yang: "Go get it."

I grumbled as I the find the will to get out of bed. Neo falls off my back and wakes up annoyed. Yang cuddles with her and she soon returns to sleep. This person better be important. Ruining my cuddle time with Neo!?!? *Loads Emergency* UNACCEPTABLE!!

I make it to the front door now angrier than before. I opened it with fury and shoved my pistol into whoever decided to wake me up.

Ruby: "Okay. A bit hostile."

YN: "Ruby? The hell are you doing here?"

Ruby: "Can I come in? It's cold outside and I don't got the cash for a hotel."

I shut the door in her face.

Ruby: "HEY! LET ME IN!!!!"

I return to bed and back into my covers.

Yang: "Who was it?"

Y/N: "Your sister."

Yang: "Thats nice......"

It took her a minute to register.

Yang: "OHMYOUM!!! RUBY!?!?!"

Yang rushes out of bed and Neo is now pissed off. She smacks my arm away in frustration. Guess no cuddles.... 

Ruby: "Hi Yang! WHY ARE YOU NAKED!?!"

Y/N: "Wait what!? When was that a thing!?! You were clothed when we went to bed!?!?"

Yang: "Calm down and get in here Ruby."

Neo angrily brings Yang her Pjs.

Ruby: "NEO!!! OUCH!!"

Neo returns to bed pouting. I begrudgingly get out of bed today. It's too early for this shit.

Y/N: "Okay what the hell is going on Ruby?"
