*Morning of Day 2 of Operation Blood Letter*

*Herald Transport Delivering Murder*

*Four Miles northwest of Higanbana*

*3rd Person Pov*

Chimera Chief: "I still don't think this is a good idea."

Storm Lead: "I'm telling you that this will work!"

Grunt Lieutenant Justine: "I get it. The burning of Wind Path is making the rounds really quickly. Mistral City has to do something unless they want full blown rioting spreading as well."

We find our Herald officers in the Transport Delivering Murder. Storm Lead's plan is to ambush a convoy that is going to arrive to evacuate Higanbana. The news of Wind Path has been, ironically, spreading like wildfire across Mistral. Grunts being sent into Higanbana as spies are reporting that the town is in a constant state of panic and despair. Talks are being held and the decision of evacuation was made. The mayor of the town reassures his people that Mistral's New Army is being sent to get them out of here before the Heralds arrive in force.

Chimera Lead: "I still say that we go in and live to the name!"

Storm Lead: "Relax Megan. We don't know what this new force is made of, and I think this is the best plan."

Chimera Lead: "If you say so." She was disgruntled and wanted to prove her Wing's worth. They won't fail for the Second Time!

Lieutenant Justine: "Our assault preparations are ready. To think that the only road to Mistral City is through a very thick forest. Surprised anyone uses these roads in this bandit kingdom." Justine spits at the ground in clear disgust.

A grunt interrupts the conversation.

Grunt: "Lt! 5th Squad reports of armored vehicles heading to Higanbana!"

Lt Justine: "What!? How many?!"

Grunt: "They say roughly ten armored vehicles and nearly twenty trucks! They just passed checkpoint Cancer!"

Storm Lead: "ooohhhh! Looks like waiting was worth it!"

Chimera Lead: "Guess I was too impatient."

Storm Lead: "Don't worry about it. You haven't been a Herald for too long now. Anyway, what kind of guns they are packing on these vehicles?"

Grunt: "They seemed to be a blocky armored truck with a single machine gun. I guess it's for bandit attacks and not for us."

Lt Justine: "Might give my Grunts pause but the Vikings can make quick work of it."

Chimera Lead: "I got an idea!"

Storm Lead: "Oh? Let's hear it!"

She begins to explain her plan and her fellow Heralds love it. The Heralds do more than simply Slaughter nowadays. They have begun to gain a taste for Terror Tactics and Symbolic Gestures. They know its gonna take a few more hours before the convoy reaches Higanbana. Checkpoint Cancer was midpoint between Higanbana and Mistral City. Lots of work needs to be done before the convoy reached Higanbana and much more before it leaves it. Orders were given and the Grunts and Pilots went to work. The mechanics also joined in after the Vikings were looked after. No one slacks in the Heralds. Everyone does their part. Makes the Killing Easier for everyone.

*Higanbana, Three hours later*

The convoy from Mistral City has arrived at last. Crowds of people were in a near jubilant mood at the sight of such a response force making its way towards the town square. The Council must really care for them to send this many trucks for them. Squads of the new Mistral Army began to dismount from their armored trucks. They were a bit disorganized at first but found their discipline soon enough once the officers started to whip them into shape. Civilians began to board the empty trucks meant for them as the soldiers secured the town square. The evacuation was sadly going slower than expected. People being People after all. The commander in charge was annoyed but figured nothing can be done. They best leave by nightfall though. He didn't want to go on that road at night. No one ever does after all.
