Healing Process

Luke and I were at the arena. Coach knew our plan. He did go earlier today and buy me the newest iPhone just because he could and he switched me over to his phone plan just a few months earlier than we planned. I was so nervous. I still wouldn't have Luke touch me. But if we didn't walk in holding hands someone would know something was up.

This man was seriously a dream come true. He got out and ran over and opened my door. I got out I was already dressed for practice, except my
Shoes. I was carrying them. I put make up on my neck. Best I could do. He closed the door as we walked across the parking lot.

"Remember nice and easy at practice the next few days." He said.

"Yup..." I said to him. He opened the door when we got there. We walked into the gym he walked me down the hall to the locker room.

"I love you I'll be right out there." He said. He had his notebook with him.

"Writing about me being an idiot?" I said.

"Stop that." He said.

"I love you. If you need me you know where I am."

"I love you too." I said. I opened up the locker room door and everyone got quiet. I walked in.

"Kells you're late! I know you have stuff going on but please this is the championship!" Coach kinda yelled.

"Sorry coach, it's been a long 24 hours... uhm listen can I go see..." I thought about it... saying his name was hard... "Jared I twisted my ankle this morning and seriously I'm having the worse luck." I said. Coach looked at me. I saw Jay stand up.

"Kells didn't you read our texts?" She asked.

"No, Luke told y'all that my phone got ruined we went and got a new one today." I said holding it up.

"Kelly, uhm Jared was arrested in Michigan... for rape." Coach said. I swallowed hard.

"You didn't know? We assumed...." Ava started saying.

"Assumed what Ava?" I yelled at her.

"Okay I assumed it was you,.." she said. I rolled my eyes. I started crying.

"No Ava Luke an I had some personal stuff happened and he came and got me in Michigan... I'm on light workouts for a few days. Coach what am I suppose to do?! We need a trainer do you really believe it was him!?" I said irritated. She looked down.

"Yes Kelly there were witnesses...." She said.

"What the fuck." I said. I was shaking.

"He's been released from the school. The trainer for the football team is stepping in for this last week if you need him I can call."

"No I'll wrap it up..." I said I was shaking still I sat on the bench and grabbed an ace wrap out of my locker and wrapped it and put my shoes on. I walked out before everyone they all followed.

"Kelly you want your own hoop? I'll come work with you after I get them started?" Coach asked it echoed. I looked up and saw Luke about 6 seats up.
