Cause sometimes I look in her eyes
And that's where I find a glimpse of us
And I try to fall for her touch
But I'm thinking of the way it was
Said I'm fine and said I moved on
I'm only here passing time in her arms
Hoping I'll find
A glimpse of us
Tell me he savors your glory
Does he laugh the way I did?
Is this a part of your story?
One that I had never lived
Maybe one day you'll feel lonely
And in his eyes, you'll get a glimpse
Maybe you'll start slipping slowly
And find me againGlimpse Of Us ~
JojiTonight would be the toughest night of my career I can tell you that now. This wouldn't just be a match against Spain in the 2022 EUROs Quarter Finals, but I would face off with some of my closest friends, as I wouldn't ever get to face Viv and the Dutch team unless we got to the finals.
But today I have to forget about all of my friendships in that Spanish team, I have to prove to Sarina, to everyone that us Lionesses. We can win and we will win! Even if it scared the living hell out of me to face that set of women.
I was starting, as was Mapi and some of the girls, and we all knew this would be a tough match.
But I had to stop for a second cos I had the delight of a pre match interview.
"Hi Juliette, it's nice to see you." I was asked by Fara Williams as she was conducting my interview, and I loved getting to chat with her.
"Hiya Fara!" I told my old team mate and my mother figure in life as I smiled and hugged her. "Lovely to see ya."
"How are you feeling tonight with everything surrounding COVID 19 and this game?" Fara asked me as I shook my head.
"Well obviously it isn't ideal as we would love to have Sarina around the team, but sadly it isn't the case. We've honestly tonight got to see how we play without Sarina in such a big game here tonight." I told Fara as honestly as I could as I nodded.
"It isn't going to de rail us on any means, we have been working around the clock and Sarina has always been on call to talk to us girls." I added to Fara with a smile.
"I know that you have previously said that you are going to go with the flow. Does your mind ever drift to the fact that this is a do or die match?" Fara asked me as I nodded, taking a sip from my water.
"Oh of course. But we also have to recognise that this match is do or die and we only have one shot so we have to take it. But Spain also need to know that we haven't conceded a goal yet, we aren't going to think of this as laid back, we know how strong of a team they are and that they as players are very dangerous. I mean I know it personally working with so many of them already." I told Fara with a smile, flicking my brunette hair over my shoulder.
"How important are you personally finding this tournament?" Fara turned to ask me now.
"Well I think that this is honestly something I love because it is so mainstream and so many people are watching it. I have been getting messages all week from people in my high school saying things about how they're watching the games and that their family and nieces are loving it, and it makes me so happy that we have such a positive influence on people." I told Fara with a smile as I moved my blonde hair again, it was too bloody hot still.
"And now we have one final question before you can go off and get changed for this momentous day. What is the score line going to be?" Fara asked me with a smile.
"Oh Fara!" I moaned at the woman. "Really you can't ask me that?! I will not give an answer to that as I have to run off, and I will get out of this!" I added with a smile and a wave before I practically ran off.
