Omniscient POV
during tour emery and billie had practically spent every waking moment together, so once tour ended the pair decided they'd cut costs and officially move in together.

there had been a few bumps in the road as the two got used to each other's habits, but nothing to major. plus nothing was better to them than being able to wake up next to each other everyday.

emery, who was usually the early bird even when she didn't have class found something to do. whether it was making breakfast, working on some of her latest art projects, or working out with claudia, there was always something to get her up and moving.

"morning baby, you're up early," emery said to billie who was half asleep but wrapped around her girlfriend's waist.

"i wanted to come," billie mumbled.

"to my appointment?" emery asked.

"mhm,"she replied.

"that's not for another 2 hours, love bug" emery explained.

"i know, it takes a while to look as good as i do," billie smirked before walking back to the bedroom to get ready.

"you're a dork," emery laughed.

"is that why you love me?" billie replied but emery just jokingly rolled her eyes.

billie and emery sat in the two faux leather chair inside the doctor's office awaiting dr. nichols arrival.

emery's legged anxiously bounced up and down at a fast rate.

billie reached her arm out, rubbing emery's knee, in hopes to calm her down.

shortly after dr. nichols came in holding a small stack of pamphlets.

shaking our hands one by one, he said a quick hello before being seated. without wasting a second he started, "so emery, as i'm sure you noticed there has been a decline in you vision, peripheral especially."

emery nodded her head in response, silent because she knew what was coming next.

"as you know it's hard to estimate or understand how fast each patients impairments progress, so with that, the best advice i'd have not is to start looking at different options."

emery stared straight ahead, showing no sign of acknowledgment.

billie looked over and saw the singular tear drop stream down emery's cheek but before she could reach to comfort her girlfriend, emery excused herself.

after a few minutes of emery being gone, billie collected the pamphlets off dr. nichols desk, "i'm really sorry about her, it's just a big adjustment."

dr. nichols gave an understanding look to billie before she head to the car where emery was waiting.

before driving off billie turned to emery: "what happened em?"

"i don't wanna talk about it," emery mumbled as she wiped a stray tear from her cheek.

"okay," billie replied softly.

the rest of the drive home was quiet, billie didn't like not completely understanding why emery was upset but she also knew it was right to give her some time.
-
the following day billie and emery sat at their kitchen counter having lunch and billie thought it'd be a better time to look through the pamphlets.

"so after you left yesterday, nichols gave me one of these to show you the different service dogs and how the process go-"

emery cut her off, "you have got to be kidding me," she scoffed.

billie looked at her with confusion, "what?"

"i don't want the service dog or the walking cane!"

"baby it's just options to help you,"

"ughhh," emery exasperated in frustration before going upstairs into her office. billie went up to follow her but was met with a door slammed in her face.

Emery's POV

i leaned with my back against the door as my body slid down it. i hate that i cry out of anger. it makes me feel stupid when all i want is to explain my feelings.

i sat against my door for a few minutes trying to acknowledge that billie is only trying to help the best she can, while also thinking of how to explain my perspective to her.

i walked back to the kitchen in hopes to find billie there, which she was.

"i'm sorry for getting angry with you. i was just at my breaking point with everyone having input in what they think i should do, rather than considering what i want." i explained, " it's not that those things are t helpful, i just don't think they are necessary at this second and i don't want the attention it brings right now."

billie wrapped her arms around me, bringing me into her embrace, "you're right, i didn't mean to be overbearing," billie apologized.

"it's ok, we both have our own things to work on," i mumbled.
