Emery's POV
2 weeks later

"i'm gonna miss you kid, so you better not hesitate to call me ever, time zone difference or not," claudia told me as we hugged tightly, "seriously, i'm here for you for anything at all."

"i know you are, thank you claud, i love you" i smiled as we pulled apart.

i grabbed the handle of my suitcase and began to head towards my flight's terminal.

Billie's POV

"zoe, i don't think this is a good idea," i said nervously, "i mean what if she doesn't want to see me?"

"but what if she does bil? which is why you're gonna go into that airport and find out."

as i walked towards emery's terminal i could see her sitting peacefully in a seat as she looked down at the phone in her lap.

what am i doing here?

as i turned to leave i heard my name, "billie?" it was emery, squinting to make sure it was me.

i made my way to her as she looked at me in confusion.

"what are you doing here?" she asked.

"i uh- i don't want to leave things like they are em."

"meaning?" she replied.

"i don't want to look back on our relationship and remember us arguing as how it ended. you deserve a good ending."

Omniscient POV
"what i'm saying is, i'll wait em. if you want me to, i'll wait."

emery grabbed billie's hand, she struggled to find her words. her eyes began to water and tears trickled down her cheek.

"i don't want you to wait, baby," she barely whispered.

billie didn't understand, her eyes also filling with tears as her chest began to tighten.

"i love you so much, i do,but i have to let you go," emery continued.

"i-i don't understand," billie's voice broke.

"i know me bil, i know that i'll fall in love with london. i know i'll want to stay."

"then we'll figure it out when the time comes-"

"bil you have family here, you have a job here, you have friends, you have so many reasons to stay."

"you have me."

"and if love was enough to keep me here, believe me i'd be here till the end of time." emery gave a teary smile.

the boarding attendants began opening the gate, as everyone began shuffling into the plane, the pair stayed.

emery pulled billie into a hug. "please just don't become a stranger," billie sniffled.

"i won't."

the two reluctantly let each other go.
