HALOS LIPARIN ni Lorenzo ang distansya mula sa kanyang opisina pauwi sa kanyang mansyon. Matapos ang tawag ni Ingrid kanina ay hindi agad siya nakaalis dahil nasa importanteng meeting siya.

If it wasn't important for him to get the deal with the people he talked to earlier, he might have left them in the middle of the meeting. Now he regrets not doing that. Hindi na tuloy niya naabutan si Mari sa mansyon.

"What did you tell her?!" Tanong niya sa babae na siyang naabutan niya sa living room. Hinihingal pa siya dahil sa pagmamadali niya. Halos sumabog siya ng mga oras na iyon.

Napatayo mula sa kinauupuang sofa si Ingrid.
"I told her everything she needs to know."
Nasa mata nito ang takot sa bigla niyang paglalabas ng matinding galit dito.

She had never seen him so angry like this before and if she wasn't a girl he might have kicked her for what she did.

"Everything? If you told her everything, she wouldn't have left me! Maiintindihan niya iyon. But you didn't! You did not tell her everything! " Nagpupuyos sa galit na nagpalakad lakad siya sa gitna ng salas.

" What do you want from me ha? I did what you want me to do. I left you alone! Nagawa mo ang buhay na gusto mo sa america. Bakit kapa bumalik? I told you, I don't need you anymore!"

"Don't say that Enzo. Look at me babe, you love me. Dont say that. I am here now because I love you. I am willing to risk everything including my life just to be with you again. "  Lumapit ito sa kanya at mahigpit siyang niyakap.

Hindi niya sinuklian ang yakap nito.
"I don't want you to get hurt. That's why I decided to marry someone else. I loved you that's why I did it. But you are the one who cut the communication between us. You were the first to let go Ingrid."

Ang usapan nila noon ay papalabasin lang nilang nagpakasal siya sa iba.  Magbabayad lang sila ng babae na willing itaya ang buhay para sa kaligtasan nito. Nangangako naman siyang hindi pababayaang mapahamak ang sinumang babaeng mapipili nila ngunit umatras sa napagkasunduan si Ingrid.  She doesn't want to spread the word that he is married to someone else and for everyone to know that this is not the one he married. She let him choose, that if he goes ahead with the plan they will break up.
He was not going to continue but there was another shooting incident and Ingrid was shot. She lost her pregnancy which he deeply regretted. She got angry with him and broke up completely.Lumipad patungo sa ibang bansa at nakiusap sa kanyang wag na niya itong hahabulin pa.

Because of what happened and in order for his enemies to stop it once and for all, he went ahead with the plan to marry someone else. Tamang tama at may malaking utang sa kanya ang mga Delavin, si Mara ang napili niya. Pero napakasalan niya ang kapatid nito. He met Mari. He poured out his anger and frustration to her when he and Ingrid broke up. And he even treated her badly on their first night together.

Pero habang tumatagal na kasama niya ito, nakikita niya ang kabutihan ng pagkatao nito. Ang pagiging totoo nito sa sarili at kung pano ang turing nito sa lahat ng mga katulong nila at maging sa mga gwardiya. Lahat ay tinuturing nitong kapamilya. At napag alaman pa niyang hindi naging maganda ang trato ng mga magulang nito dito. Lalo lang napalapit ang loob niya sa dalaga, gusto niyang siya ang mag aalaga kay Mari. Siya ang magpoprotekta dito.
