with her browning legs laying flat on the ground, dusted with sand like flour on bread, y/n sat close to the lapping waves. the water felt warm, yet cool under the blazing sun.
other people were enjoying themselves here, but this was a private beach, so only a few were present.
y/n gazed across the stunning clear waters of the sea, spotting zoro standing in the salty water just a few miles away. she contentedly sighed, letting her head fall back.
"i needed this..." she hummed, blocking the sunlight with her book.
"y/n, come on! leave the book alone!" zoro suddenly called out for her.
a disgusted face immediately settling on her face, she looked back at him as he jogged back to her. she sarcastically chuckled— this was the exact situation they were in at the club.
the girl purposely ignored him, just to give him a taste of his own medicine. she flipped the page of her book, sighing.
"y/n." zoro repeated once he made it to the shore. he walked up to her, blocking the sun as he directly placed himself in front of her.
he stared at her focused face choosing to ignore his presence.
"y/n—"
"— i'm in no obligation to join you, zoro." she didn't bother to look up from her book.
she flipped another page, her eyes slowly going from left to right with every word she was reading. zoro looked around the laguna beach, seeing a few other people stealing glances and taking pictures of them from time to time.
"the water's warm." he turned back to her. "your dad was right." he aggressively shook his hands and hair over y/n's figure, purposely causing the droplets to fly onto her book.
"hey!—" she tossed her book aside to deathly glare at him. "quit it." y/n kissed her teeth, slapping his wet leg.
he crouched down to grab his towel.
"so uptight." he grinned, that sparkly tooth gem on one of his bottom teeth catching y/n's attention again.
zoro started ruffling his green hair up, the large towel covering his lopsided grin.
