I Can't Lose Another One

WHAT?!? I immediately burst into tears. I start screaming and freaking out. What the heck?!? No!!!! I hear my window shut. I look over to see Jayden climbing onto my desk.

"Hey! What's up?" Jayden asked cheerfully. I wiped away my tears before he could see themu. I turned around to meet his gorgeous blue eyes.

"Nothing. What's up with you?" I asked sniffling. He looked deep into my eyes and grabbed my head in his hands.

"What happened?" He asked wiping away the tears that had slipped out with his thumbs.

"I-I turned on-on the news and and there was a m-motorcycle accident and the rider w-was identified as M-M-Max Brooks." I said stuttering over my words.

"We have to go!" He said, taking his warm hands off my cheeks. I grabbed his wrist before he could walk out my bedroom door.

"We have to wait. They would somehow get ahold of me. We have no idea where he is. Ok? He's my brother, you don't know how much I want to find him but we just can't." I said looking up at him. He sighed then nodded. He sat down and pulled me down next to him.

He enveloped me in his arms as i cried into his chest.

"Len?" I heard Teddy yell from downstairs.

"We're up here!" Jayden yelled the sudden loudness making me wince. My door flew open and Teddy was standing in the doorway with a grin on his face.

"What happened?" Teddy asked his smile dropping when he saw me. I slowly lifted my head from Jayden's chest. His arms went back to his sides.

"Can you give us a minute?" I asked Jayden. He nodded and walked out of my room, closing the door on his way out.

"What the hell is going on?!" Teddy said his voice rising. I flinched at his tone.

"Sit down please." I pleaded.

"Not until you tell me what's going on." I sighed and ran a shaky hand through my hair.

"Well when i got home Max wasn't here so i just assumed he left. So i came up here and i ummm i uh turned on the news. There was a motorcycle accident. The rider was identified as M-Maxwell...... Brooks." I cried. Teddy started tearing up. I opened my arms and he ran towards me and wrapped his arms around my waist. He was crying into my shoulder. I kissed the top of his head and whispered soothing words to him. He looked up at me and kissed my cheek and squeezed me a little tighter before his grip loosened again. He let out a small chuckle through his tears.

"What?" I asked.

"You look really scary." He said before wiping away the makeup that was running down my face. My cell phone that was in my pocket started vibrating. I frantically grabbed it and pressed 'accept' with shaky hands.

"Hello?"

"Hi. Is this Lennie Brooks?" A male voice asked.

"Yes, this is she." I replied.

"Well we have a patient here at Manhattan Medical under the name of Maxwell Brooks. Do you have a relation to him? You were on the emergency contact list." Teddy was holding my free hand and Jayden walked back into my room quietly.

"Yah. He's my older brother."

"He was in an accident. You should probably get here as soon as possible."

"Ok. Thank you." I said the ended the call. I put my phone in my bag and walked downstairs, not loosening my grip on Teddy's hand. I was afraid of what would happen if i did let go. We walked out the front door. I slowly let go if Teddy's hand and got in the car. Once Teddy was in i grabbed his hand and began the drive to Manhattan Medical.

As i drove one thought was going through my head I can't lose another brother. It was too hard the first time. Max won't die on me. I can't lose another one.

I was probably going way over the speed limit but i didn't give a crap. My brother was in the hospital. When we arrived at the hospital i parked the car and got out . I quickly grabbed Teddy's hand and ran towards the entrance.
