Chapter 13: Dress Shopping

Tayah came with me and Lexie to look for prom dresses. We walked into the small boutique, Starbucks in hand. We all went to opposite sides of the store. As I was filing through all the dresses one caught my eye, but not for me, for Lexie.

“Hey Lex? Come here.” I said. Lexie was standing by me in moments. I pointed to the black dress. It was strapless, long, and had beading on the bust. It was very light and flowy. I grabbed it and handed it to Lexie. She smiled at me. She kept looking though just in case there was another amazing one. I grabbed a short mint green one with beading on the bust and held it for myself.

“Len?” Tayah said. I walked over to her. She was holding a beautiful red dress. It was a one shoulder. It was a mermaid style gown. I held it along with the green one. I had about five dresses now. One black one, one green one, one red one, one white one, and a dark blue one. I was just about to go try them on when I saw the most beautiful dress. I stopped and admired it. It was light purple. It had straps and the material looked like it was wrapped around the torso. Then on the sides there were little parts cut out. I immediately grabbed it, loving everything about it. I walked into the dressing rooms with Lexie and tried on the first dress. I tried the black one first. It was long and had a chiffon bottom. It was pretty but I didn’t think it looked great on me. The next dress I walked out in was the short mint green one. It was pretty and complimented my tan skin. Next was the white one. It was cute but it didn’t look like a prom dress. The navy blue looked hideous on me.  Next was the red one. It was beautiful and my favorite one so far. Lexie and Tayah agreed with me.

The last dress I tried on was the purple one. I pulled it on and loved it immediately. I showed Lexie and Tayah. They loved it also. It was very light and flowy and comfortable. I chose the purple dress. Lexie chose the black dress that I picked out for her.

Next we went shoe shopping. I chose a pair of black open toed heels. Lexie got a pair of crème heels. I texted Caleb about my dress so he could match.

The next day I went wedding dress shopping with Tayah. The consultant was very nice. Tayah thought she wanted a ballgown. Once she tried on about three ballgowns she realized she didn’t like those on her. Then we tried light and flowy dresses which she seemed to like a lot better. She liked two dresses a lot. One was lace with a sweetheart neckline. It had a beige belt around the waist and it was a mermaid style dress. It was beautiful.

The other one was a simple white gown with rousching on the bust and a jewel belt under the bust. She said she was gonna decide next tie she came.

She already had ideas for the bridesmaid dresses. I was so excited and happy for them.

Tonight is prom night and im very nervous and excited. Caleb is picking me up and then he is going to take me to dinner and then we are going to meet Lexie and Mark fro ice cream then go to Prom. The theme for prom was ‘Under the Stars’ its not unique but I was just glad I have a date. It was 2 o’clock so I decided to call Lexie. We were getting ready together but she was going home before Mark would get there. Holy shit prom is tonight!
