Chapter 17 Sexy Saviors

Chapter 17

I screamed through the tape, Stephy slapped me and pushed me towards a chair that was close to my mum. Then two huge guys came from behind a wall and tied my arms and legs to the chair. All three of them walked away. Once they were out of sight I struggled to get my arms loose. I pulled and twisted my wrists but that just made my wrists and hands bleed. I closed my eyes as tears rolled down my cheeks. My shoulders slumped and my body rocked with sobs. I looked over at my mum, she was passed out and there was blood dripping down her chin from the cut on her lip.

Max’s POV

I woke up and checked the clock. It was 1:00PM. That’s weird, Len usually wakes me up by 10:00. I got out of bed and walked downstairs. Nobody was downstairs. I know Tayah had to go to work this morning and Teddy was going to Allie’s so they could go to some amusement park but Lennie didn’t say she was going anywhere. I walked upstairs and into her room. It was empty, her bed was still made like she never slept in it, her purse was sitting on her desk. I walked over to her desk to see if she had her phone. I rummaged through her bag but found nothing, then I started looking through the papers on her desk. A small pink note fell when I picked up a stack of papers. I bent down and picked it up.

‘Meet me at the abandoned apartments in downtown. If you don’t someone you love will pay your price. <3 –S’

WTF?!? What is this. Who sent this?  Thousands of questions were going through my head, but one stood out. Where’s Lennie?

I called Caleb wondering if her knew anything.

“Hello?” he said.

“Hey Caleb I found a note in Lennie’s room and she’s not home so I was wondering if you knew anything.” I asked hopefully.

“No sorry. I’ll be there soon though maybe I can figure out who the note was from.” He said then hung up. Ten minutes later Caleb was at the door. I showed him the note. When he read it he tensed up.

“Do you know who wrote it?” I demanded.

“Stephy Burner. She was my ex-girlfriend and hates me and Lennie.” He said, running his hands through his hair.

“We gotta go find her.” I said and started grabbing things I would need.

“Max, Stephy was part of a gang at what point, she probably has weapons or backup. I know Stephy and she wont go anywhere by herself, not even the loo.” He said.

“I’m a SWAT agent I have weapons too.” I said and ran into the basement. I opened the closet and grabbed two bulletproofs and two handguns. I handed one of each to Caleb. I tucked the pistol into the waistband of my jeans. I put a baggy sweater on so my bulletproof wasn’t as obvious. We drove to the abandoned apartments; we parked next to Lennie’s car and quietly walked through the doors.

“Who’s there?” a loud male voice boomed. Caleb and I tiptoed a little further in until there was a hand on my shoulder. I elbowed the man in the gut and kicked him, until I was pulled away by another guy. He held my arms behind my back and the other guy held onto my feet. They handcuffed my hands and carried me into a dark closet. They threw me in, Caleb was also sitting in there. I don’t know how long we waited in the closet. There were two loud thuds on the door before it burst open and Tayah was standing on the other side of the door. That’s my SWAT agent fiancée. I thought. She sniped our handcuffs off and led us through the darkness.

We opened a door and Lennie was sitting in a chair, blood caked to her body, bruises everywhere. There was someone next to her, as we walked further in I could see the other woman’s face it was….. MY MOM?!?!? I ran over to them and tried to untie the ropes but I couldn’t because there blood was on them and touching there blood just made me want to puke. Tayah walked towards them and sawed off the bloody ropes. Caleb grabbed Lennie and I grabbed my mom and carried them to the car. When I walked back in who im guessing was Stephy was holding Tayah at gunpoint. I pulled out my gun from my waistband and cocked it, my finger rested on the trigger.

“Drop the gun.” I said through gritted teeth. Stephy turned around and smirked, her attention and gun now on me.

“You call yourselves SWAT agents?” she laughed. “You’re pathetic you kn-“ Tayah kicked her to the ground knocking her out before she could continue her sentence. Tayah then put handcuffs on her hands and we walked out of the building hand in hand. I drove my mom and Lennie to the hospital.
