Chapter 16: Glad You Could Make It

Chapter 16

I decided not to tell anyone. Too scared to figure out what she would do If she found out I told someone. We kept looking for a dog. Max and Teddy found an adorable Labrador. After looking around for a little longer we finally decided on the Labrador. After signing all the papers and paying for him we got in the car and drove home excited about the addition to our family. But I couldn’t get Stephy’s voice out of my head.

Caleb’s POV

Lennie was acting weird at the animal shelter. I don’t know what was up with her but it was starting to scare me. We pulled into the Brooks’ driveway. Allie and Teddy ran into the backyard with the new dog and the rest of us walked into the kitchen.

“Hey Caleb and Tayah can you give me and Len a second?” Max said when we were in the kitchen. I kissed Lennie on the cheek and walked into the backyard with Tayah. We watched Allie and Teddy run around with the dog already trying to teach it new tricks.

Max’s POV

“So Len what’s going on?” I asked after Tayah and Caleb walked out the back door.

“Nothing.” Lennie said playing with the hem of her shirt.

“Cricket, I have known you since the day you were born. I know when something’s wrong so just tell me.” I said using the nickname I gave her all those years ago.

“Nothing im just not feeling so good.” She said then walked into the backyard. I sighed and ran a hand through my hair before walking outside with everyone else.

Lennie’s POV

“anybody got ideas for names?” I asked.

“You Ted and Max decide it’s your guys’ dog.” Tayah said. I shook my head.

“It’s our dog.” Allie, Tayah, and Caleb smiled at me.

“I don’t have any ideas what about you guys?” Allie said with a  shrug.

“Do you guys remember when we wanted to get our dog last time and we wanted to name it Koda?” I asked Max and Teddy. They both nodded.

“What do you guys think of Koda?” Max asked Caleb Allie and Tayah. They all nodded.

*4 Hours Later*

I looked over at the clock, it read 9:47 P.M.

After deciding the name for our new dog we played with Koda for about two hours. Then we came inside and ordered pizza. Now we are all sitting in the living, our stomachs packed to capacity with pizza and breadsticks. We were watching The Hangover.

I was currently sitting on the ground next to Caleb, Max was on the couch with Tayah on his lap and Allie and Teddy were upstairs because Max thought that the movie was too inappropriate for them.

My phone vibrated in my pocket. I pulled it out and opened my new message. It was froma blocked number. It said:

Caleb’s mine. If you don’t stay away you pay the price love.

I tensed up as I stared at the message. How did Stephy get my number?! Someone nudged my shoulder taking me away from my thoughts. I looked over at Caleb . he was looking at me concern clear in his bright eyes, I gave him a reassuring smile and turned back to the TV. When the movie was over I drove Caleb home. When I pulled into his driveway he pecked my lips then opened the door.

“Caleb?” I whispered as he was about to step out of the car. He turned around and looked at me. I pulled his face to mine and our lips smashed together. We both pulled away breathless.

“I love you Len.” He whispered still only centimeters from my face. My stomach erupted in butterflies as he said those words, I loved hearing them come from his mouth.

“I love you too Caleb.” I said.

“I should go.” He whispered. I nodded and watched him walk to his door. Once he was in the house I drove back home. When I got home all the lights were off. I quietly walked to my room and walked over to my desk. I filed through the pictures on my desk. I stopped on one of the pictures, it was ripped in half. It was of me and Caleb but the half of the picture I was on is missing. There was a pink sticky not on the back of it.

‘Meet me at the abandoned apartments in downtown. If you don’t someone you love will pay your price.

Holy shit! Oh no. Why is Stephy doing this to me? I never did anything to her. Should I go? Or should I stay? But if I don’t go someone else will pay my price. I have to go. I can’t let someone else get hurt because of me.

I silently walked downstairs and out the door. As I was running to my car I tripped. I looked down at my knee where there was now a large hole in my jeans and there was also blood dripping from the scrape. I got in the car and drove to the abandoned apartments. Once I got there I slowly walked in the door.

“Glad you could make it.” A voice form behind me said. I turned around and searched for the source of the voice. Stephy walked out of the corner of a room and pulled my hands behind my back. She duct taped my mouth shut and tied my hands together. She pushed me but I fell on the ground, hitting my shoulder. She kicked me in the stomach. I stood up and walked as best as I could. She opened a door and turned on a light. There I could see my mum, sitting in a folding chair, her arms and legs tied, covered in blood.

A/N: It's been awhile my friends. Well yah this is getting a little creepy. Short, i know, im sorry. i Wont be able to update this week because of Hellweek, i have to stay to school til 7PM to rehearse our play. but i will update ASAP. Hope you enjoy.
