Chapter 15

I woke up with an arm around my waist. I turned my head to see Caleb sleeping. I smiled as he crinkled his nose in his sleep. I carefully moved his arm from my waist and sat up. I walked downstairs and got both of us a cup of coffee. I walked up the stairs and shut my bedroom door with my foot. I sat on my desk chair and just sipped my coffee. Caleb woke up soon after.

“How long have you been up?” he asked groggily.

“About 10 minutes.” He smiled and stood up taking the coffee from the bedside table.

“What are we going to do today?”

“I was going to meet Lexie for lunch. We could go get some breakfast right now though.” He nodded.

“Yeah sure. Can we stop at my house first though so I can change?”

“Yep! Let me change and then we can head out.” I said and walked into my closet. I grabbed a pair of jeans and a flannel since it was cold outside because of the winter weather. I changed then grabbed a pair of ugg boots and put them on. Caleb handed me my phone and purse and we headed out. Caleb drove his car since it was still at my house. We pulled into his drive way and he shut off the car.

“I will be back in 5.” He said then got out of the car and sauntered into his house. I opened instagram on my phone and posted the picture Lexie took of Caleb and I last night. Then I scrolled through all the other pictures. Caleb walked out of his house and locked the door. He was wearing a white v-neck, faded jeans, and his leather jacket. He got in the car and we drove to a small diner called Freddie’s.

Caleb’s POV

We walked into the small diner and sat down at a booth in the corner. Lennie and I were just talking when we heard someone clear their throat. I looked up at the waitress.

“Bloody hell you’re everywhere.” I breathed out.

“What did you say Caleb?” Lennie asked. I looked up at her and smiled.

“Nothing babe im fine.” I said then glared at Stephy, our waitress.

“What can I get you?” Stephy asked  looking straight at me.

“Wanna share the pancakes?” I asked Lennie she nodded. “We’ll have the pancakes. And two mango strawberry smoothies.” Stephy walked away and winked at me.

“Ok what’s up? Why were you acting so weird?” Lennie asked and grabbed my hand from across the table.

“Our waitress was my ex girlfriend.” I told her. Her face scrunched up in confusion making her look irresistibly adorable.

“How is that possible? You moved here fromEnglandand we started dating a few weeks after you got here.” She said.

“She was my girlfriend inEngland. Her name is Stephy. We dated for about a year when I caught her kissing some guy at a party. She’s beastly. She screams trouble. And now she’s inAmericawhich is weird.”

“Oh wow. I’m sorry babe.”

“Eh I didn’t really like being in a relationship with her. She made everything about her and we always had to do what she wanted.”

Lennie’s POV

“We’re getting a dog?!” I yelled. Max nodded and smiled at me. I jumped up and down and cheered.

“Come on get in the car.” I sat next to Caleb and Teddy and Allie were in the back. Max and Tayah were in the front with Max driving. We pulled up to the animal shelter and talked to the lady. Then we went into the kennel and looked around. I broke away from the group and went to the back of the kennel. I was looking at an adorable beagle when the lights turned off. I looked around frantically trying to see anything in the darkness. Suddenly there was cold metal on my neck and my back was against the wall.

“Stay away from him or else you and your family are going down.” A high pitched british accent said through the dark. The cold metal was removed form my neck then I heard foot steps and the lights turned on. That could’ve only been one person, Stephy.
