Chapter 10 K-I-S-S-I-N-G

Chapter 10

I got in my car and grabbed my phone. I texted Caleb my address and then put my phone away. I pulled into our driveway and got out of my car. I grabbed a few bags from the trunk and walked into the house.

“Help with the groceries!” I called out. Teddy ran past me yelling “Superman to the rescue!”

I set the groceries on the kitchen counter and started putting them away. Teddy and Max brought in the rest of the groceries. I was picking up the house when the doorbell rang. I pulled open the front door and the Newman family was standing there.

“Hey come on in.” I said and motioned them in. I hugged Sallie, the mom, and Jake, the dad, and Allie and Ellie.

“Chocolate milk!” Ellie yelled. I laughed and walked into the kitchen. I grabbed a cup and filled it with chocolate milk. When I handed the cup to Ellie she sat down in the middle of the kitchen. I gave Max the burgers and hot dogs to cook on the grill outside. Teddy and Jake went with him. There was three loud knocks at the door. I excused myself from the conversation I was having with Allie and Sallie and went to answer the door. Caleb was standing there in a pair of faded ripped jeans and a black t-shirt.

“Hey!” I greeted.

“Hi. Nice place.”

“Thank you kind sir.” I said then led him to the kitchen.

“This is Allie, Ellie, and Sallie.” I introduced.

“Hello it’s very nice to meet you.” Caleb said sweetly. Then I led him out back and introduced him to Jake, Teddy, and Max. He stayed outside with the guys and made small talk. I walked back inside ad started making the salad.

“So when did you start liking this boy?” Allie asked. I turned around and rose my eyebrows.

“I never said I liked him.” I said then turned back around trying to hide my blush.

“But I can tell Len. I know you like him without you even telling me.”

“Ok.” I said drawing out the word. I finished making the salad right as Max walked in with the burgers and hot dogs. Allie and I sat the table then instructed everyone to take a seat. We started eating. Caleb was on my left and Max was on my right. We made small talk over dinner and told stories. Jake told a lot of funny firefighting stories, since he was a fireman. After dinner Jake, Sallie, and Ellie left but Allie stayed so she could hang out. After I finished cleaning up the mess from dinner I walked out the smudged sliding glass door and into the back yard. I took a sip from my Dr Pepper and walked towards everyone. Max and Teddy were arm wrestling. I knew Max would win if I didn’t help Teddy. Technically it wasn’t fair because Max is a SWAT agent so he had some pretty big muscles. I snuck up behind Max and poked him in the ribs, making him squeal and lose strength. Teddy quickly pushed his hand down and started jumping up and down cheering. Max looked p at me from his spot on the floor.

“I will get you back Len.” Max said then stood up and walked into the house. He walked out a few moments later a beer in hand.

“You’re still underage you shouldn’t be drinking.” I said.

“My birthday is in a few months, I’ll be 21 then I doubt it makes a difference” he said.

“It’s still against the law.”

“Who’s up for a game of truth or dare?” Allie said suddenly. I groaned and ran a hand down my face. Caleb looked at me questioningly. A game of truth or dare with Allie and Teddy was always very intense. We eventually ended up playing the game. By the time the game was over it was midnight. I drove Allie home. When I got back home Caleb and Max were playing the Xbox. 10 minutes later Caleb decided it was time for him to go. I walked him out to his car. I gave him a quick hug and then he got into his blueToyotatruck. I was walking back towards the front door when Caleb called my name.

“Len” I turned around.

“Yeah?”

“Would you umm wanna go out this Friday?” he said nervously scratching the back of his neck. I smiled and bit my lip.

“Yeah, I’d really like that.” He smiled widely at me which I returned.

“Ok awesome, I’ll see you this Friday then. And I’ll see you at school. Tootles Len.” He said then got back in his car. I waved goodbye then walked back into the house.

“LENNIE AND CALEB SITTING IN A TREE K-I-S-S-I-N-G. FIRST COMES LOVE THEN COMES MARRIAGE THEN COMES DARCY IN A BABY CARRAIGE!” Max and Teddy screamed as they ran up the stairs. I sighed. I have the most childish brothers ever. But holy shit Caleb Winchester asked me out! EEEPPPP!!!

A/N: Heyyyyy! Umm do here's another update. Holy chicken crap balls!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Caleb and Lennie! Nobody saw that coming right? *sarcasm* Well yeah but this is a totally cliche story if you haven't figured that out already. ohhh and they said Darcy instead of baby because Lennie wants to name her child darcy.
