Chapter 9: Wanna Come Over

Chapter 9

When I woke up I was wearing the same clothes I wore yesterday. I walked into the bathroom and turned the water to hot. Once the water was to the temperature of my liking I hopped in and washed all the dirt and grease off my body and out of my hair. When the water started getting cold I turned it off and got out of the shower. I wrapped a towel around my small frame and walked into my room. I grabbed a pair of high-rise shorts and a light pink crop top. I put on the clothes and walked back into the bathroom. I blow dried my hair and straightened it. When I was done fixing my hair I applied light makeup very carefully.

“Hey Len 30 minutes until we gotta leave!” Teddy shouted from downstairs. I walked into my room and grabbed a crème colored knit cardigan. I pulled on the cozy sweater and grabbed my black combat boots from their spot on the floor. I pulled them on and tied up the laces. I grabbed my bag and phone and walked down stairs.

“Ready Freddy?” I asked Teddy when he walked out of the kitchen. He nodded and grabbed his backpack. “Later Max!” I yelled then closed the door. I drove to Teddy’s school. After dropping him off I drove the short drive to my school. I got out of the car and met Mark and Lexie where I normally do. We talked for a while before we went our separate ways.

I walked to my locker and grabbed my calculus book. I was walking towards class when I heard my name being called. I turned around, my hair whipping my face. I blew my hair out of my face to clear my vision. Caleb was running towards me. I smiled at him. He stopped when he got by my side and we walked to class together.

“Hey!” I greeted. I looked up at him. His hair was tousled from the running which made him look sexy and really kissable. WAIT! I can’t be having those thoughts. Stop Lennie don’t say that.

“Hi.” He said snapping me out of my thoughts. We walked into class and took our seats. When Mr. Meyer walked in everyone fell silent and stared at the man in front of the room. Mr. Meyer was pretty hot. He had dark brown hair and gorgeous blue eyes. And he had a well built body. Mr Meyer lectured about a new math technique in class. Caleb and I were passing notes the whole class.

“Alright class you can go.” Mr. Meyer said. Wow class is over. That went by fast.

Caleb and I walked to second period in a comfortable silence. When we got to class we still had 5 minutes before class officially started.

“what’s your most embarrassing moment?” Caleb asked suddenly.

“ It was the fourth of July and we were at a pool party and I meant to go change into my swimsuit, I thought I did but it turned out that I was just wearing my underwear. It was so embarrassing.” I said looking down trying to hide my blush. “What about you?”

“I forgot to wear a belt on my trousers and they were a little loose and they fell down when I was talking to the girl I like.” He said. I looked up at him and noticed a slight blush rising to his cheeks. I giggled.

“Alright class go to your seats and open your textbooks and read in silence then answer the questions individually.” Ms Davis said then sat down at her desk and picked up a romance novel. The cover had a shirtless man hugging a woman on it. I read the pages then answered the questions, I turned them in up front then walked back to my seat. When I got back to my seat there was a note sitting on my desk.

‘When where and who was your first kiss?’ I recognized Caleb’s writing. I quickly scribbled my answer.

‘Eighth grade, under the big oak tree at the back of the school, Michael Ballio. What about you?’

When he set the paper on the corner of my desk I quickly snatched it up. ‘Fourth grade, in the swirly slide, with Stephy Brunner.’

The day ended quickly and I walked to my locker and grabbed everything I needed. I walked out of school and got into my car. I turned up the radio, rolled down the windows and put on my sunglasses. On my way home I called Allie.

“Hey wanna come hang out tonight? You and the whole fam bam? Call me back love you.” I said after the beep.

I drove to the store to buy some groceries. I planned on having the Newman family over. I wlaked into the store and grabbed a cart. I strolled through all the aisles and grabbed everything I needed. When I got in the checkout line I examined all the items in the cart. Soda, burgers, buns, chocolate milk, and ice cream. When I finshed paying the cashier asked “Would you like helo out today miss?”

“Yes that’d be great.” I said. She called for someone.

“Lennie?” I looked up and saw Caleb standing there in a blue shirt and a red vest. Hmm he must work here, he even manages to make the uniform look good.

“You need help out?’  He asked. I nodded. He pushed the cart out and I led him to my car.

“Nice ride.” He comented “Do you want it in the boot or in the seat?” aww so cute he uses british slang.

“In the boot please.” He nodded and started putting everything in the “boot”.

“Hey Caleb umm my brothers and I are having a few family friends come over. You could come if you want.” I suggested. He smiled at me.

“Yeah I’d like that. Thanks.” He said.

“No problem. I’ll text you my address.”

“Ok see you later Len.” he said then waved over his shoulder as he pushed the cart towards the store.
