"You sure he wasn't just being weird Pope?" JJ asks Kiara as we were collecting food for Sarah and John B. We were still at the Wreck. Kiara was ranting about Pope storming off and JJ and I were trying to comfort her, and calm her down.

"It wasn't really the kind of thing that needed interpretation." She tells us, as she hands us bread. "Is that gonna be enough food for them?" She looks up at us, wiping her hands.

"I mean... for a couple of weeks, that's all they need, so..." JJ nods, he bounces the bread in his hands and looks back up at Kie.

"Look, I think I actually hurt his feelings." She looks down at her feet, continuing to talk about Pope.

"Look, don't beat yourself up too much," I comfort her, rubbing her arm for a second. The last thing we needed was for her tp be down in the dumps about this whole situation all day.

"He's completely changed his feels." JJ pipes in. "The past 24 hours have been Jekyll and Hyde." He says this as we head out the back of the Wreck. I nod my head in agreement.

"I hate to admit it but I miss the old Pope." Kiara sighs. "At least I knew what to expect from him." As JJ and I load food into the back of Kiara's car, we notice her mom, it's like she popped out of nowhere.

"Where've you been?" She throws her hands up, facing Kiara, who looked more annoyed than guilty. I look over at JJ and I grit my teeth.

"Uh- I'm fine, I slept here." She points up at the restaurant, and then lightly gestures to us, as if to remind her Mom that we're right here.

"Well, we were up, half the night, scared to death, looking for you." Her mom chuckles as if it was some joke. "Were you even gonna tell us?" As she says this JJ and I close the trunk.

"Well, I'm telling you right now." Kiara snaps back, rolling her eyes.

"What the hell are you three up to?" She grits her teeth, taking in the scene in front of her.

"I'm sorry, Mrs. Anna, we got to go," JJ tells her, crossing his arms.

"Sorry," I add quietly, crosssing my arms aswell.

"No. I'm sorry. Absolutely not. Have you heard what's going on?" She starts raising her voice. She knows we know, and she knows probably what we're up to.

"Mom, I'll explain later," Kiara assures her as she heads to the front seat of her car.

"Honey! Have you seen the storm coming in? This is not safe." JJ and I were already in the car, him in the passenger seat and me in the back.

"I'm sorry Mom, I have to go." Kiara sits down in the driver's seat.

"These cops are armed, Kiara. You'll get yourself sho-" Her voice gets silenced by the sound of the engine starting.

"I have to go!" Kiara shouts over the engine.

"I'm not letting you do this!" Her mom shouts back.

"Mom, John B needs me!" She yells.

"You need to stay here."

"I understand, I'll be careful." She tries to assure her. Kiara slams the door in her face. I could tell by the pain on her mom's face that she truly loved Kiara. As we drive off, I watch her mom's tears leak down.

Soon, we pull up to JJ's little yellow house. "Home sweet home." He smiles, barely. He takes off his hat and runs his hand through his hair.

"Do you want me to come?" I leaned forward. "Cause I'll come." I nod. I don't know if it would be the best idea for me to come, or if I really wanted to, but I would. I would go for him.
