John B decided to go into the Sheriff's office alone, which we all agreed with. It was pretty silent in the Twinkie while JB was gone. It appeared that JJ was back to avoiding me, and you know, that was totally not bothering me. Not at all.
Kiara was teaching Sarah how to braid my hair since Sarah's hair was very stringy and mine was more wavy. Not as curly as Kies, but definitely not like Sarah's. I tried to ignore the tugs and curses from Sarah behind me while I was thinking about the blonde mere feet in front of me. Why was he so protective but not talking to me? Was this it? Was it over? I shuddered at the thought and began to wonder if JJ and Kiara would become a thing. It made me sick.
John B took me out of my thoughts, climbing back into the Twinkie with a huge grin on his face. "So, how'd it go man?" JJ asks, facing John B and patting him on the shoulder. John B peers over at us before looking back at JJ.
"He believed me. Ward is going down along with Rafe." John B glances over at Sarah who was probably pretending not to be bothered, maybe using my hair as an excuse. JJ was hooting and hollering with joy but the rest of us were pretty quiet.
Once we were back at the Chateau, Kie, Sarah and I decided to sit away from the rowling boys. We were sitting out on the porch while the boys were at the table inside. The door was wide open though, so the three dipshits were all in our eyeshot. Once my hair was braided, Sarah seemed pretty blue, and I could tell that Kiara had noticed it as well. "Ladies and Gentleman, Ward Cameron, king of the Kooks, is going to jail!" JJ announces while drumming loudly on the table. Pope and John B laugh along with him, in their own little world.
I look over at them and then at Sarah, who was watching as well. They continued to make stupid remarks and Kiara was laughing along until she met Sarah's eyes. "Do you regret it?" She asks, Sarah stares into the backyard looking at peace for a split second. I think she wanted to be at peace and be fine with it, but I mean, it's her dad.
"No." She answers almost immediately. "He deserves all of it, and I know that." She was nodding as she said, it, as if she was trying to assure herself. I couldn't even picture having a loving family to begin with, but then learning that they were all terrible people.
"He's your dad. I get it." Kiara mutters, looking down at the floor. "I'm sure it sucks to be in the middle." Suddenly, Sarah's phone begins to ring. She picks it up and then glances inside. Gotta be Topper. I mean, who else would call her?
"Sorry." She whispers to us, before walking a little bit away from us, I could still hear her though. "Hello?" It seemed that the person on the other line was doing most of the talking because the only other thing she said was "Thanks." She looks back at the boys again, who were still having a blast, before hanging up.
We all rushed into the Twinkie after that, Sarah announced that they were going after her dad as we speak. The boys jumped up, and I could tell they wanted to witness the enemy go down. As we made our way to the house we saw a lot of cop cars. Sarah sat in the front with John B while the rest of us were in the back. "Shit," I mutter as four Police Cars speed down the road we were turning onto.
All of us were on high alert, maybe in shock that this was finally happening. "Oh, my God. Can you please hurry? I need to be there for Wheezie." Sarah explains the air kept getting caught in her throat. I could tell she was shaking and was trying to control it by tapping her foot.
"You think I wanna miss this?" John B blandly snaps back, which makes both Sarah and I widen our eyes in shock. A little bit of sympathy would be nice. They both make eye contact before Sarah looks away, shaking her head in disbelief.
We soon pull up outside the huge stone wall that surrounds The Cameron's house. Everyone jumps out of the car, for two different reasons. I tell my mind to keep an eye on Sarah if anything bad goes down, what if they have to shoot him? We head up to the wall that Kie, Pope, JJ and I were at just a couple of months ago, when we were spraying the wall, trying to convince others that the Camerons were murderers. Now look at us, walking up to the same wall to watch them get arrested. I stand on my tip toes to see a group of Police officers running towards the dock, while a couple of them went inside.
