Janet
"What the hell do you mean, Janet?!""I mean, that I'm in a serious relationship with someone who's going to be around our son."
"Who said you could date someone? You have my son to raise."
"First of all, I am a grown ass woman. No one determines who and when I date, especially not you."
"You're raising MY son. I can determine whatever the hell I want." He got in my face.
"No you cannot and you will not." He backed away.
"So how is my son going to fit into this?"
"MY son will be treated very well by my boyfriend. He will have a stable home life with us when he isn't with you."
"Hold on. What the hell do you mean? A stable home life. That motherfucker is going to be living here?"
"We will be living together, yes."
"I don't agree."
"That's a little too bad. I have custody and you have visitation. I can live with who I damn well please. Our son will be safe. That's all you need to worry about."
"No it isn't. I will be worrying about how to get full custody of my child, because there is no way that I am going to let some random man around him. Playing family and shit."
"Who said that we were going to play family? I have a son and a boyfriend. He has a son, a daughter, and me as a girlfriend. We are simply bringing two lives together. I'm not becoming his children's mother and he's not becoming Eissa's father. Why can't you just...." My door opened and Idris walked in. When he saw the scene he stood still.
"Is everything okay, babe?"
"Everything's fine. You can put your things up in the closet. I cleaned out the other closet in the bedroom for you." Wissam scoffed.
"Is there a problem, my man?" Idris asked Wissam.
"No. No problem. Do what you gotta do." Idris headed towards the stairs but not before stopping to kiss me and placed his forehead against mine.
"You need anything, you call me."
"Okay." He went upstairs. I turned back to Wissam.
"I'm sorry....umm....what were we talking about?" I rubbed my forehead. He rolled his eyes."Goodness, Janet. He's really not that good for you to blank like that."
"How would you know?"
"You weren't like that with me."
"Exactly." I walked into the kitchen. He, of course, followed me as I got something to drink.
"What are you trying to say?" I laughed as I poured some water. "Janet!"
"It wasn't good. Now let's move back to our conversation. What were we talking about?"
"I'm going to fight for full custody of my son. You will not play family."
"I just said......you know what, go ahead and do it."
"What?"
"Go ahead. Get lawyers and fight for him."
"Why?"
"Why what?"
"Why do you want me to do it all of a sudden?"
"Because this way, you will actually have to spend time with your son. There won't be any dropping him off whenever you get tired or irritated. It'll just be you and him, day in and day out. Except on the days that I will be allowed visitation. So go ahead." He made a face.
