"FINE." THE TEENAGE GIRL
said with a slight smirk

"in other words, Plan F." Lockwood turned back to the spreading fire.

"that's not plan F!" Lucy exclaimed, she was panicking, they all were. "uh, I...I mean, Plan B." he stuttered.

"plan B's salt-bombs. she's way too strong for that!" Lucy commented again.

"for fucks sake. me and Lockwood'll draw her off so you can contain the source." Agnes said in trepidation.
"that's plan E!" Lucy exclaimed. "Luce, with all due respect, I don't think the plan matters right now. our lives and the source do." Agnes took her rapier off of her holster, Lockwood following close behind.

the living who taunted the ghost were on opposite sides, both attacking mercilessly but the ghost seemed to be focusing almost entirely on Agnes.

the ghost closed Agnes in, which had her back to Lucy.
Agnes knocked Lucy to the side accidentally, a quick loud sorry coming out of the blonde's mouth.
"you two, hurry!" Lockwood screamed, voice raspier than normal.
Lucy grabbed the source, a ring. she held Agnes's hand as they jumped to Lockwood- who caught Agnes before she fell. the three of them went to the balcony, it was the only safe exit even though it was tall.

"are you okay?" Lucy asked Lockwood, who struggled to get on the railing.
"apart from our client's house burning to the ground, absolutely fine."

"CAN WE NOT-" Agnes was cut by an explosion behind them, it was getting risky now; and with her colleagues unnecessarily talking as if a house was not burning right behind them was making it more difficult.
"what took you so long? what were you two doing back there?" Lockwood looked at both girls at his sides.

"I told you. something wasn't right. something was different. so I had to-" Lucy was the one cut off now.
"what wasn't right? we secured the source, didn't we?"

"yes but..." Lucy was interrupted by their second female colleague. "CAN YOU TWO NOT SEE THIS IS NOT THE TIME TO BE HAVING A CONVERSATION!" Agnes screamed with a cough following soon after.

"agreed. we should jump while there's something left to jump from." Lockwood calculated the height attentively.

"jump? you must be mad. we're way too high. we'll break our necks!" Lucy argued.

"well, i'd rather have a few broken bones or die from this fall than being burned alive!" Agnes exclaimed, did Lucy not see there was no other way?

"ready?" Lockwood glared both girls for a second
