Now out of armor, Katie and Aaron stumble their way farther from the sight. They make it back to the car. "Come on. Katie ushers. She reaches through the window and grabs her bag before the two get into the woods across the street.

They slide down a dirt slope and lean their back to it, watching the Pal robots look around for them. Once they're gone, Katie takes off her bag. "What are we gonna do?"

Her mind stops racing when she hears sniffling. Turning around, then sees Aaron balled up, crying. "Aaron? Hey, hey. It's okay." She looks around and spots Monchi.

She picks up the dog and holds it out to her brother. "Uh-oh. Watch out. Monchi coming at ya."

Arron turns away and starts sobbing. "Katie, stop." He goes quiet for a second then speaks up. "Why'd you say all that stuff?" Katie shakes her head. "I'm sorry. I...I just wanted to" She stops and sighs. "I don't know."

She watches her brother for a second and grabs her bag. "Okay. Are you hungry?" She pulls out the wooden moose and sets it aside. "Do you want some fruit snacks or something?" She pulls out the camcorder and holds it out to the boy. "Here, can you hold this?"

Aaron turns on the camera and rewinds the clips. First where Rick said his speech, but then it cuts to Rick and Katie hiking, laughing in bliss. Katie perks up at the sound and she gets worried, looking over the clips. "Oh, man. Have I been recording over those?"

Linda is doing her mom dance when Aaron asks, how far back do these go?" He rewinds and stops at a video of a young y/n, standing behind a man and woman's leg at the doorway of their house.

Rick approaches the group with a smile. "Hey, how can we help you, folks?" The man takes Rick's hand into a handshake. "Hi, we're the L/n's. Our little y/n told us that her friend, Katie wasn't in school today. We asked around and we were able to find out where you guys lived. We're so sorry if it sounds creepy."

"Is Kay-kay okay, sir?" The little girl asks Rick, now in front of him. Rick gets on his knees and looks y/n in the eyes. "Ah, well. Katie just has a fever. But hey, I'm sure that knowing her friend came to check up on her will make her feel better." Rick looks up to the parents. "You don't mind, do you?" He asks and the two say they don't mind at all.

Aaron rewinds the video further to a baby Katie in a car seat, clutching her sippy cup. Linda speaks up. "Hey, Katie. Can you say bye-bye, house?"

Katie is quick to repeat. "Bye-bye house." The cam then pans over to Rick giving a longing stare at the wooden cabin, a for sale sign placed right in front of it. "You ready, hon?" Linda softly asks.

Rick takes a deep breath. "Almost." He walks over to the car and looks at Katie. "I know this is hard for you." Linda sympathizes as she watches Katie take a hold of her dad's finger. Rick shakes his head before pressing his forehead to the baby's. "Nah. It's easy."

Rick and Linda then go to the steps of the house. "One last-" He clears his throat. "Something to remember the place by." He takes the moose off the pillar and chuckles at his wife. "Come on, Lin. Turn that off." He put his hand over the camera and the video ends.

Katie takes out the moose and examines it. She rubs her eyes, her hands going under her glasses. "Oh, man." More videos of happy memories play and Katie bundles into a ball, hugging her knees. "Aaron, I'm gonna make it up to all of you." The two smile at this and Katie gets up. "And I think I know how. Come on buddy. Follow me." The two then head back to the car.

Meanwhile with Rick

The man furiously kicks the wall of the pod, only to get no progress. He stops when he hears Katie's voice. "Dog Cop, you've done it again." The man in front of Rick laughs at the video.

"Katie Mitchell presents... Good Cop, Dog Cop." Katie's voice continues. Rick points at the screen. "H-hey there. How'd you get that video?" The man looks over his shoulder, revealing to be Mark and his face falls. "Huh? Oh. I've been feeling kind of down lately, considering I brought about the end of humanity, but these weird girl's videos always cheer me up."

Rick weakly smiles. "My daughter's that weird girl." Mark smiles widely at this. "What? No way. She's hilarious. These movies are, like, amazing."

The video goes on with Monchi driving the car while fake sweat drops run down him. "I may be sweating like a dog, but I'm not rolling over!" Rick smiles softly. "Yeah. She is... amazing."

"You must be super proud," Mark says and Rick's smile disappears. "Yeah, yeah, we have a, uh... a great relationship."

Katie speaks up again. "Sarge, I'm struggling, and I need some backup here." A sock puppet that looks like Rick shows up. "Sorry, Dog Cop. I'm a little ocupado." The dog looks at the puppet. "Seriously?"

Another scene is shown where Sarge is yelling at Dog Cop. "Hove you ever thought about throwing your lady and your dreams away and living at home forever?" Rick tiredly watches the video. "Wow, the Sarge character is kind of a jerk."

There is another scene a the Sarge's office. "It's time for me to go. Consider this as my letter of resignation." the dog then spits out the badge, making the watchers laugh. "You can't leave!" Sarge rages. "I have to." Dog Cop says. "I'm going to the academy in California with my special lady to find out what kind of cop I'm gonna be."

The Sarge is not persuaded. "You're never gonna make it out there. Failure hurts, kid." Rick sharply inhales at this.

"I'm a full-grown cop now. And one day, I hope that you can get to know the cop that I've become, because... I love you, Sarge. But now that I'm leaving, I... I just need some backup. And when I look for you, you're not there."

Rick looks down at his hands shamefully and Mark pauses the video. "Hey, man, it's just a movie. Do you need a minute or..."

Rick looks away. "No, it's fine. It's too late for what I need to do. I just wish I talked to Katie and y/n."

"Y/n? Y/n l/n?" Mark asks and the father nods. "Oh, you're the family. I'm so sorry you went through all this."

Over with y/n her POV

The doors open and the robot walks into the room with me struggling in its grip. "SO! I finally meet the only human I have grown a liking to." The head chair turns to show a phone smirking at me.

"Now, I would love to sit down and have a chat with you, but I'm afraid I can't waste any more time than I already have. So, I'll be telling you two things. One: I agree with what you said about replacing me being barbaric, simply true. Two: You have been chosen to be the representative of humans in a museum. So, we're going to put you in a canister that will fill with liquid that will quickly and painlessly kill you and your body shall be preserved for all of eternity to be admired for how we survived such horrendous things. So, goodbye!"

With that, I'm tossed into a tube, and it closes, leaving me to bang on the glass and hyperventilate.
