Hmm, I guess this is my life now living with vampires and a baby. Risa is reminded about her conversation with Reiji last night. They're right. Not just their life changed but mine as well. I don't let you cry much to avoid arguments with them. In exchange, they help me change a diaper or babysit for an hour. All because of that, I swim again and went back to my normal slim figure. For a change, she tries out one of the dresses from Laito. I did wear skirts during my pregnancy, so I'll give it a try.
'Good afternoon, Risa.' Laito comes inside after a knock.
She laughs seeing his casual clothes. 'You did mention last night, you'll stay with us tonight.'
He nods while picking up Daiki. 'And for a good reason, I can't have my brother keep you all to himself. Besides, you need protection as well, we saw those four at school.'
'Do you think they will try something when they can't find Yui?' She crosses her arms. Hello, earth to Laito? I'm wearing one of your dresses, and you don't notice?
'Maybe, I'm not sure, but we're keeping an eye on them...'
'Why did you tell her about that?' Ayato interrupts as he comes through the door. 'And hurry up, we have to leave soon. Can I get a chance to say goodbye to him?' Without waiting for his reply, he takes the baby away. 'Alright, be good to your mother. At this point, she deserves an award for not letting you cry all the time. That means a lot to all of us.'
'Ayato,' starts Reiji when he sees Risa. A dress? I thought hell had to freeze over. 'Hurry up, we're going to be late because of you.'
Rolling his eyes, Ayato hands the baby back to Risa. 'Always a buzzkill.' He teleports straight downstairs.
'Let me know if those idiots are skipping school.' Laito glances at his brother.
Reiji nods. 'You know what we discussed.' He turns to Risa. 'Nothing but clear communication when it's about you and the other impure vampire wannabes. We're not going to risk anything since they scared you and Daiki in the backyard.'
'I understand,' she sighs and forces a smile. 'Just let me know as well if it's about us.'
I will never forget our talk from last night. Reiji knows how important it is for her. 'I will. We have to leave for school.' He walks outside. 'Oh, and Risa, lovely dress.'
What the hell happened between those two last night? Laito turns from the door to her. 'I did recognize the dress. I just didn't get the chance to say anything because someone interrupted me.' He winks at her. 'He can still hear me.'
'Oh, excuse me for saying goodbye to Daiki!'
She laughs quietly and kisses Daiki's cheek. That's Ayato being himself. After that, she knows she's alone with Laito. 'Any ideas or are we staying at home tonight?'
'Oh hell no, let's go outside. He's three weeks old tomorrow, and he can do longer between feedings or cleaning diapers. Last time, we went shopping for ninety minutes, and not a moment in the car or you were asleep.' He disagrees in keeping her at home. 'Besides, even if those four decide to skip school, they'll never expect us to be gone.' He finds the diaper bag and checks it. I have a few familiars outside as well for your safety. One sign of trouble, and I'll take you back home.
She nods slowly. 'You think they expect me home because of Daiki?'
'That's one of the reasons,' he swings the bag on his shoulder. 'You need to get out of the house too sometimes. Fresh air will do you both good. I know a place where we also have some privacy in case he does start crying.' He teleports them downstairs and gets a car. 'It's a surprise for you both. Get in.'
