A Little Twist

Fifty-One

'Risa!' Subaru didn't hear them for a while and thought she fell asleep. Only to discover her room empty. Where are you? And where have you taken Daiki? You can't disappear on us now. We got used to you and the little one. He keeps searching when he reaches the living room and faces Shu. 'What are you doing home?' 

'Last class got canceled. Why are you calling Risa?' Shu puts his bag down. 

'She's not in her room and neither is Daiki. I searched everywhere. I can't believe she would run away after all this time,' shakes Subaru his head. 

Shu agrees. 'She wouldn't do that to Daiki.' He falls quiet before making eye contact. 'The Mukami fools. They know she lives with us, and they might wanna get back at us for Yui's death. Call Reiji and keep looking, I'll check their house.' 

'You know where they live?!' He turns to his brother. 

'Yes, get going.' Shu teleports to said mansion. Risa, you made me a promise. I don't want to find out that you indeed ran away. But even if they took them away and not to their mansion. Where could they be? He doesn't want to think about it and breaks the door. Be here, please. Let Daiki cry or anything, just let me know where you are.

Subaru hardly hears the phone going over or it's answered. 

'This better be good.' 

'Risa and Daiki are gone. Shu and I believe the Mukami took them away,' he won't waste any time explaining. 

'What?!' Reiji doesn't hesitate and leaves the classroom but not without saying something about an accident. 'Ayato, Kanato, Laito, get to the car, now.' He knows they can hear him. 

'There's been an accident. Gotta go.' Ayato comes running out of the classroom. 

Laito follows from a different room. 'Where is Kanato?' 

'No idea.' Ayato looks around if someone is nearby. Then he teleports straight into the car. 'What is this about?' 

Laito wants to know the same. 

'Risa and Daiki are missing. This could be foul play by the Mukami brothers. Subaru is searching the mansion. Shu's last class got canceled and is now looking around too.' Reiji explains. 

'Yeah, they must be responsible for this. Risa wouldn't leave like that with Daiki,' knows Laito with a frown. 'But where do we search? Where do those four live?' 

Reiji wants to give the order to drive away when he stops. 'Where is Kanato?' 

'Don't know, he left to go to the library, and I haven't seen him since.' Ayato scans the parking lot. 'He could be with Moriko and enjoying her blood. He is the only one who could never bite Risa...' 

'And for a good reason. He never helped with Daiki, in fact, he kept his distance since the beginning. Did you forget what he did to her when she was still pregnant,' reminds Laito his brother. 

'Focus, Risa is gone with Daiki, and it's not like she left with a bag. Subaru checked if the diaper bag is gone. Along with a suitcase for herself and Daiki. That makes me believe she's kidnapped.' This is bad. Reiji can't forget about Kanato either. Where is that teddy bear freak? Could he be involved? He always kept his distance and tried to get rid of them a couple of times.

'If you destroy him, I'll destroy you.' Kanato goes after Azusa, who kidnapped Teddy straight from his room. 

'I'm sorry, Kanato.' Azusa throws the bear into a storage room. 

Kanato, as expected, runs into the room. 'Sorry for what?' Damn it, I'm already getting thirsty. Grumpy because you stole Teddy and for what.
