Waking up from Daiki, Risa recognizes the cry. So she turns around and straight into a couple of arms. 'He doesn't need me. I fed him not so long ago.'

'Is that your way of asking me to go?' Not that Shu minds, and he gets out of bed after an impulsive kiss on her cheek. 'Don't worry, I can take a hint.' Lifting his son, he goes to the changing station. 'Alright, sweety, your mother fed you about an hour ago.'

'His temperature went down so it should be back to normal.' She watches from her bed.

Shu hears noises coming from his brother's room. He's waking up at this time along with us. He puts Daiki back in his crib. 'There you go, give us some rest, sweety.' He goes back to bed when he notices a movement and lifts his head. 'No, Reiji.' If we keep biting her then her awakening could come a lot sooner. Could she still breastfeed Daiki if she survives the awakening? 'No more biting her.' He pulls Risa closer.

'And why is that? I promised,' she remembers.

We would speed up her awakening. Reiji knows what he means. 'It's Kanato and my turn otherwise.' I guess I have to stop him from going to her room.

Kanato appears half sleepy but dressed. 'I barely got to bite her and now you tell me I can't bite her anymore!'

She looks at him. 'Shu?'

'No, not anymore, Risa. This ends now, Daiki needs you more than we do. I don't want you to go through the awakening. Who knows what it will do with you when you breastfeed him.'

She freezes in his arms. My awakening?! Would that come so quickly? 'Really? I didn't even think of it when I offered my blood.'

'You should have,' Shu noticed Laito coming into the room. 'Out, all of you. We'll talk downstairs.' He feels her even closer against him. Of course, she sleeps in a maternity sleepshirt. I guess she feels safer with me.

Laito sees her close to Shu before leaving. I understand it's too much for Mama-chan. We all sleep in on the weekend, so she isn't used to us being all awake.

Shu waited until they were alone. 'They left.'

She bows her head with her face in his neck. How did I forget about that? They drank enough, didn't they? Just how fast is the awakening coming for me?

'Risa.' He chipped her head. 'It's just gonna be me from now on, and I can handle some days in between. We can get used to our new rhythm where only I can drink. You did make me promise in order to leave this place.'

'I just can't believe I promised something like that without thinking of Daiki.' She sobs. 'How am I a mother to do such a thing? He comes first no matter what.'

He shakes no. 'Don't ever think that again, you hear me? You are being a great mother to our son. You are letting him go first on so many things. Everything you do is for him.' He pulls her on top of him. 'And he's right there asleep. If he's not hungry you would kick me out of bed because you want me to bond with him as well. I get to spend time with him. I mean skin-on-skin, bedtime stories, bath time, and not to mention the moments I get with him alone. You are doing so much that you even neglected your health. Remember you got sick because you didn't let him cry in the beginning? You fainted as a result and it got all of us worried, and we all took care of you two. Reiji brought you to bed and cared about your fever while Laito tried to give him a bottle.' He chuckles. 'But, as it turns out, Daiki was just as worried about you as well, and I calmed him down.'

'But still...'

'I know you were trying to meet us halfway to give your blood.' He moves her hair behind an ear. 'You can stop now. There is another girl coming, and we can get used to what we promised to each other. Our son is just doing fine but it won't be long or he wants your attention. Get dressed so we can go downstairs. If he does wake up, I'll teleport you back upstairs.'
