"Are you free tonight?", I ask Bella when I get to the office.

"Sure, why?"

"I got tickets for the football. And I know you get bored watching the matches but I don't want to go alone and I rather take you than Andy. He just keeps on asking who's everyone and telling me to explain to him what the referee does and I don't get to enjoy the matches myself".

She just laughs, knowing I'm right.

"How did you get tickets? Isn't it super hard to get them? My ex was always complaining about it".

"A friend gave them to me", I say, looking away so my face doesn't give away anything.

"Fuck off!", she whispers yells, covering her mouth with her hand.

"What?"

"Don't tell me you're sleeping with that hot footballer you know! I mean, the texting the other day was a bit sus but I gave you the benefit of the doubt".

"We aren't sleeping together, he's my friend".

"Sure sure sure", she says, not believing what I'm saying. "Wait! Are they like VIP tickets or something?"

"I actually don't know. He just told me which gate to go to and they have the tickets saved for us".

"Fancy. And I'm sure he picked the best seats for his friend".

We keep working until it's time for lunch and since we have a bigger break today, we decide to go grab something to eat at a little café near the office.

"You know I'm not the only one finding your friendship with Mister D a bit sus, right?"

"Don't call him Mister D, please", I say, covering my eyes with my hands.

"It's just so no one listening knows who I talk about".

"His name is normal enough not to raise any suspicions".

"Whatever", she says, waving a hand in front of her. "Have you noticed his fans in your comments on Instagram"?

"I have, yeah".

Whenever I post a photo and Rúben likes it, there are comments from his fans asking who am I and why he likes my photos. This leads to someone explaining how I interviewed him and that's how we met. And he likes all of my posts, whether I'm on them or not, so it's not just a case of two or three comments. And there are also the DMs, which I delete without even reading. Why bother?

"That only proves my point of keeping our friendship private. I don't want to deal with fangirls insulting me".

"But you shouldn't have to lie. It's so stupid".

"It's what it is".
"So we can't post about going to the match tonight?"
"No, we can. Well, maybe better if it's mostly you who does it. Though I'm sure some are following you already to see if they find any clues".
"Any clues to...", she asks, wriggling her eyebrows.
"To nothing. To whatever they think they need to investigate".
"I'll be looking for clues too".
"Have fun!"

"Have fun!"
