Grace is away on a trip and I offered to look after Luna. Of course I did. Her friend Bella is going to help too, since I still have to travel for matches but here I am sitting on the floor throwing a ball to a cat who has worse aim than I do when I try to score. But it's worth it. Luna is so easy to love and this will make Grace like me more...right? Things have been going well between us, as friends, so I'm confident. Even if I can still see the lack of trust in her eyes sometimes...she's trusted me enough to be in her place with her cat. That's huge.
"Luna, we've been doing this for a while. Don't you want to nap?"
Her response is to sit in front of me, hitting the ball with her little paw. So I guess not. But she's too cute, so I don't mind the back pain I'll inevitably have later.

I wish I could give Grace kisses but Luna is a good second option. So I pick her up and start to kiss her forehead. At first, she's ok with it. But soon, she starts to try to run away.
"Hopefully that won't be the reaction I get when I finally get to kiss your mum".
The next day, it's Bella's turn to look after Luna because I have a game. But she keeps me updated and tells me Luna's favourite toy broke. Or more like she broke it. Cats can get a bit too excited when playing and those toys aren't very resistant.
So the next day, I stop by the pet shop on my way to Grace's.
"Can I help you, sir?"
I look at the teenager who is talking to me, wondering if he isn't too young for this job.
"Yeah. I was looking for a toy for a cat but can't find it".
"How is it?"
I try to explain it but the kid looks more and more confused by my explanation.
"It's ok", I sigh. "I'll find something else".
By the time I make it to the checkout, I've managed to pick seven different toys. But not the one Luna liked. One has catnip so she should like that.
"Luni! I got something for you".
She runs to the door to greet me and hits her little head against my legs as a greeting.
"Missed me? I miss you too".
I open the bag with toys and scare Luna with the noise. But she recovers quickly and starts to smell all the new toys.
"Look! This one has catnip".
The moment I give her the little flamingo toy and she smells it, her eyes go fully black. She starts to bite it and to try to bite its feathers.
"Ok, I take it you like it".
While she plays, I go to the kitchen to fill her bowl with more food and change her water. And then...I hear a noise.
"What?"
Nothing is broken, so that's good. But Luna has managed to drop everything that was on the coffee table because she jumped there with the flamingo toy and keeps throwing it in the air.
"Luna, please behave. I need the positive points if I ever want to date your mummy".
But she doesn't care. She just keeps running around mistreating the poor toy...and I run after her, hoping she doesn't make too much of a mess. Because how will I explain that to Grace?
