First of all, thank you. From the bottom of my heart. When I wrote this story, knowing it was going to be the longest yet, I hoped it could be the most successful so far (more on this later). But I could have never imagined the wonderful reception it was going to have.
I say successful because we measure everything with numbers. On my day job, we are obsessed with them. So if we look at those, it has more views and votes than the others and it grew way faster. But one of the things my job has taught me is that "successful" doesn't always equal better. So what truly fulfils me as a writer is the response to these characters and this story. All the messages about it have been so sweet. I loved writing the story and I'm so happy so many of you had a great time reading it.
I don't know if any of you noticed but the parts meant, to me, the phases of Grace's growth. Part 1 being the lowest point, but also when she manages to escape. Part 2 is her starting to heal, even if it was still scary for her to take certain steps. Part 3 is the honeymoon phase when everything seems too perfect and helps her forget for a second about her past. And part 4 is when she finally faces who she was then and who she is now. Why she recovered and how strong she actually was all along.
The topic of abuse is a tough one to write about. I have cried a lot writing this story because Grace doesn't exist but stories like hers do exist. I know people who've been through this and it was important for me to be respectful to them.
I still feel there are parts of this story I would like to tell, but being first person limits me as a writer a bit. So I thought about writing bonus chapters, from different moments and POVs. I don't know when I'll post those but expect some random bonus chapters every once in a while.
Again, thank you for your support. Not just for this story but in general. It means so much to me to know so many people have decided to spend a bit of their precious time reading what comes out of my chaotic mind. The only way I can repay you is by trying to write the best stories possible.
