A decade ago, the Gun Devil rummaged through the earth in search of the Chainsaw Devil, leaving a long trail of blood and scarring the world. Many sought to avenge their fallen family and friends by becoming devil hunters and sacrificing themselves...
Izuki was floored at what he saw. Standing before him and Makima, with a smug smile, was a young woman, or at least what was left of the woman. Her fluorescent green eyes, tentacles in between her hair, and, most striking of all, the angler sprouting out from the top of her head signified that a devil had fully taken over the woman's body, or as the devil hunters call her kind, a fiend.
Amused, the fiend pointed her finger at the frightened man. "HAHAHAHA!" She maniacally laughed, flaring her sharpened teeth at him. "Makima-sama! Is this the human I am supposed to protect? I understand why now. He's pathetic! Even for a mere human!"
Izuki remained frozen, unable to lift himself up. For the longest time, he had thought he had seen it all. Blood, dead bodies, the grotesque forms of devils, and even multiple near-death scenarios, as he continued to see and experience them throughout the years, he somehow was able to move past all that. A simple fiend, something that even an inept fighter like him could take down multiple times in the past, should not be the thing to send him motionless. And yet it did, not because she is a fiend, but the body she possessed, which struck him as being uncannily familiar.
He turned his head to Makima, hoping for at least some reaction from her, but there was nothing. She remained there, calm and wearing her usual smile.
"Ma... Makima-san?"
"Yes, Izuki-kun?"
Izuki pointed back at the fiend smiling menacingly at him. "Makima-san... that face..."

"Hm? What's wrong with it?" Makima asked, tilting her head slightly.
"Yeah! What's wrong with my face, human?!" The fiend repeated. "Ah! I see! Of course! Of course! kukuku... You must be enamored by it, too, right?!"
"Huh?!"
"This human face of mine... you must think it is beautiful, right?! All the human men I've met have said so! They said they would even die for it! HAHAHAHA! Well, it's only fitting for a great devil like myself!" She exclaimed, stomping closer and closer to Izuki. "Embrace yourself in my beauty, human! For I am the one and only! Arch the Lightbringer!"
"A- Arch...?"
"That is the name I gave her." Makima chimed in. "Devils are born with names based on fears they were born with. Arch here was no different, but since she is going to work for us, I gave her a new one instead."
"And a great name it is! Don't you think so, human?!" The fiend declared, bending her back and getting her grinning face to mere inches away from Izuki.
For a moment, Izuki remained speechless, letting Arch get a good look at him. And then, it hit her.
"...huh?" came out of her mouth. "Wait a minute... you..."
"Hmph!" Izuki's breath was muffled as the fiend's hand squeezed his cheeks as she grabbed them and pulled himself even closer and started to turn his face from side to side, looking at every little detail on it.
