fallen star.

it wasn't his intention of having the song on loop, it just happened.

he was strolling down the semi busy streets as he just listened over and over to the song, not caring to take it off of loop or changing it. too lost in his thoughts, he heard a notification sound through his airpods as he took his phone out of his pocket.

'your package has been delivered'

a smile crept on san's face as he unlocked his phone, searching for the nearest craft store as he found one walking distance.

hurrying his legs as fast as he could, he saw the micheals sign down the next block.

wooyoung's 19th birthday was right around the corner. san saved up all his money from working a few jobs here and there last year. the package that arrived at san's place? it was a custom tree charm. two of them actually, one for a bracelet and another for a necklace.

speed walking down to the bead aisles, he looked up and down, left and right for the perfect beads. it couldn't be too cheap, nor too expensive. wooyoung didn't like expensive, it made him feel spoiled and he hates that feeling.

he found a case of sea glass beads for a good twenty dollars, some worthy elastic string and some other charms in assorts from hearts to butterflies and even moons and stars! he made his way to the boxes section, looking for a good small yet pretty box to put the jewelry in once they were done.

biting his lower lip, san decided on a wooden box rather than all the other plastic or cardboard ones. with a sigh, as he noticed his arms getting fulled, he saw a basket at the end of the aisle. he looked around before claiming it as his, dumping all the stuff he had into the basket carefully before going on about his day.

"how you dare just get me a box and call it my gift!"

san paused as he overheard a couple arguing over his music. he peaked his head over the shelf to see what was going on.

"but i-it's going to be for your suppl-"

"if i wanted a wooden box, i would've bought one myself! you could've at least painted it or something!"

san noticed the girl was returning the box, one almost identical the to one in his basket. overhearing the words made him think. would wooyoung like the box? should he decorate it too? what if wooyoung doesn't even notice it. san shook the thoughts out of his head as he stumbled quickly over to the paint section.

looking for his favorite colors, he found a acrylic paint case as well, sighing at how he went over his desired amount but anything for wooyoung. he had paintbrushes at home, so the last thing he needed was decorations for the box.

the cashier looked at san with the most admiration is her eyes. "is this for your girlfriend?" startled by the question, he shook his head. "no girlfriend."

"oh, a family member?"

san shook his head again.

what's so wrong about a guy buying craft items?

"it's for my best friend, their birthday is coming up.. i wanted to give them something special as a 'hey, im back' type of gift."

the cashier couldn't tell if the best friend was a guy or a girl, but she just nodded anyways, ringing up san's items as she told him the price. "it'd be 120$, do you have any coupons or a phone number?"

"oh no, it's okay.. here-" he noticed her slight was of flirting, shaking his head as he handed her the cash, grabbing his bags of items.

"have a good day!"

"you too."
