Yesterday was nothing in terms of hunting or action. The first day is meant to experience the world.
Learning what was safe to eat, and what wasn't.
Learning to build a mental map in your head of where everything was.
Neytiri simply set time aside - getting you three acquainted with everyone and giving you the rundown of how things work.
Mornings, breakfast, lunch, and so on.
They didn't follow a super strict schedule, and if someone was misplaced for a while they simply went on.
Everyone had a role to play in the environment, either in raising the kids, teaching one another, the nurturers, the hunters, the peacemakers, or the elders.
They shared.
Everyone had a place, and everyone was taken care of.
Sure some Na'vi had fancier hammocks or more decorated pieces of accessories.. but there was no sense of rich or poor. Not like back home, where the poor starved and went without care.
No sense of community.Maybe there was a bit of separation between popular and nerdy?
Or praised and less desired?
Attractive and non-attractive?But there were no cars, no planes.
No exchange of money, no demands, no homeless.Several Na'vi couples were the same gender, something nobody even blinked an eye at.
They saw gender and sex differently. Most roles open regardless of.
The only real difference was if a Na'vi woman wore something to partially cover her chest.Breastfeeding was open practice.
No shame, no sexualization.
No senseless arguments if over feeding a baby was something that could be done or not.
You'd think a world that wanted babies to thrive, they'd have taken everything into consideration for what those kids needed and not want a non-breast-feeding population due to what they were sensitive over.Everyone had the same access to the healers within the clan. Medicine and care were quite abundant as they all helped harvest and create things for their Tsahik.
Everyone had access to the same Dire Horses, the same Ikrans.
The only real difference was how skilled someone could be and in what areas.
Something you wished earth had taken note of back when societies were being built.
Back there... people were separated amongst those who believed there should be a sense of basic, free, healthcare.
While others were better off and didn't want to see their tax dollars used for someone else.
You rub your temple with the thought, sighing in disappointment.
And of course, as everyone gathers around the large fire for dinner - Jake spots you and wraps an arm around your body.
"What are you thinking about now?" He asks.
Seeing that you're elsewhere for the moment."I'm just appreciating everything here, Jake." You shortly explain.
"Even with any downsides given, none of them are anywhere near what we had."He comforts you as you explain what's in your head.
"We're safe here." He promises.
You lean into him, and he presses his cheek to your temple while sweetly rubbing against you.
His hand slides along your arm.
There are a few odd whispers from a group of teenage Na'vi nearby - and while you don't pay any mind to it - Jake sure does.
