You stare off into the distance, watching as as Jake works his laps with the skimwing.

He waves at you when he comes close enough to the dock, giving a subtle thumbs up as he's doing better.

Your feet dangle over the dock, and your hands are holding a small tablet you were given by norm on his last trip out here. It's easier to read your old books this way, and enjoy your time alone.

Tonowari surprises you as he comes up from behind - greeting you for the morning before he sets out to check on Jake's progress.

It's kind of cute the way they follow one another around, doing their usual patterns and getting Jake a bit more warmed up.

"Come on, come on, come onnnnnn." You hear over your shoulder - and just barely make out Da'mik's form as he runs and jumps on his sister, laying just beside her as he pokes at her. Mostly just trying to wake her in any torturous way he can.
"Rotxo's not gonna be happy if we're late."

She swats at him and pushes him off.
"I'm getting up, you brat. Give me a second."

"You always take too long." He scoffs. "No matter how many times you fix your hair, it's not gonna change how Rotxo looks at you."

Next thing you hear is Kiri throwing something at her brother - but you don't have the energy to care. As long as they aren't breaking things or killing one another, they're old enough to sort things out.

"We're headed off, Mom." Da'mik calls out, and you turn to give him a small wave before they part.

You're facing Jake again once the kids are out of your eyesight, and watch as he goes to the very far end.
He seems to be making better time on his speed, and takes off in a straight line - lifting himself up and now flying out a few feet from the water.
At least he's not shaking or wobbling with the weight of the animal.

As he's closer to the middle part, you watch him dive back in and suck in a sharp breath of air as this is usually where he'd get knocked off.
But for once, he doesn't. He's able to stay under for a longer period of time and come back up like it's nothing, a wide smile building on his face as he comes up to tonowari and they share a respectful nod.

The clouds are unfortunately starting to cover, and you're losing the sunshine you wanted so badly to soak in today.

You place your tablet on the dock, and as you swing your legs back over and stand too fast - you manage to scuff your knee on the edge of the dock. Some sharper pieces of wood really digging into your skin there, ouch.

As you're walking back to your hut - Ronal seems to be walking across your path - intending on joining Tonowari at first.

"Are you alright?" She asks, a bit surprisingly. You two still weren't on such casual speaking terms, but it's better than nothing of course.

"I scraped my knee when I tripped, it's fine." You insist.

She reaches a hand out so kindly and unexpectedly. "Come." She says.
And you take her hand and follow her back to her hut, where she cleans up your wound.

"Is Kiri doing better?" She makes conversation while working on the scrape.

"Yes. Your kids have really lifted her spirits lately. Tsireya is so sweet and patient with helping her get back in the water again."

"That is good." She smiles a bit. "I'm happy our children get along."

"Me too." You say. "It's nice the boys aren't at each others throats anymore."

"Aonung knows better. He should have been more welcoming.. he's just so stubborn and hard headed." She complains light heartedly.

"Same with Lo'ak. I think that's why they budded heads so much."
