"Jake, I can't. I'm sorry. I need a break."
You're hunched over, fighting for air and glaring at Jake with an over exhausted look.

When Jake said he could ask for you both to be excused for a night to train the avatars at hells gate instead of with Neytiri - you didn't think it would be this intense.

"There are no breaks in self defense. I need you to be ready. Both forms."
You almost break your damn neck having to look all the way up at him, and the way he glares down at you is awful intimidating.
"I need to know that if I'm not around, you can defend yourself.
Now, come on. Try again."

You have to close your eyes for a minute, taking in the few seconds of rest you can manage.

"I'm much taller than you in this form. What's your first idea when trying to level the playing field?" He asks.

You finally start to look around at the various objects around the place.
That same dreaded rope you have to practice pull ups on - the high jumps - the tall platforms they make you crawl to get on to.

"Seek higher ground." You answer. It wasn't difficult, you just needed a moment.
It was common sense.

"And after that? How do you attack?
He crosses his arms, waiting for you to straighten out.

"From behind?"

"No. You attack from the blind spots. Especially with those mech suits.
Directly behind them will alert their back camera. Try a little off to the side, just behind the shoulder. It's unguarded, and the build of the head covering piece shields their field of view.
Only after your initial strike can you work around to the back."

"Okay." You huff out.

"How would you out run someone my size?"

"I don't?"

"You find covering and you dodge. That is your main priority. Got it?"

You slowly nod, and he's back in position.

"One more run through for the day.
If I touch you, you're dead.
You've gotta get your human form up and ready, babe. This side of you is at a huge disadvantage if something ever happened."

Only days away from being accepted into the Omaticaya clan, and Jake knew it could raise tensions amongst the RDA.

Norm is standing well out of the way, counting down until he blows his whistle.

It's fucking terrifying having Jake run straight toward you with that look of murder in his eye.
Jesus.

At least this is only hand to hand, no weapons just yet.

You dart off as fast as you can - but he's already catching up as you slide under the nearest wooden porch.

"Good." Jake calls out.
"Except If I had a grenade, what would you do?"

This one's more rhetorical than anything, trying to get you to lose focus on what's at hand.

You have three exits you can take out from.

One is furthest away but buys you the most time.

"Five." Jake counts, and you assume it's what would be the grenade.
He's giving you way more time than you'd normally have though.
"Four."

The other exits are closer to him, but the left one is a straight shot out to the platforms you can climb on to.

"Three."
